We’re down to the final few weeks of the Bundesliga season…despite a strong template near the top, there are still some areas we can make gains. I’m 52nd going into this week and hopefully a couple of the below picks can give us all a boost in rank:
Defenders
Maximilian Mittelstädt – 17m
Stuttgart games bring an element of chaos at the moment, but if a defender can score 283 points in a 4-4 draw (Which is a -80 for goals conceded alone), then you can trust him through the chaos. A Friday night game vs Heidenheim is a perfect chance for another haul.
Mitchell Weiser – 13m
Weiser makes the picks again, purely because he is looking like the strongest star option going into the end of the season. A goal at the weekend and VAR preventing an assist also means Weiser is looking likely to keep returning the goods for us with some great fixtures remaining.
Diogo Leite – 9m
Somewhat surprisingly, the centre-back managed to return both a goal and assist last week. Although I don’t expect that again, this weeks matchup should be a good opportunity for him to get back to his dual winning ways…hopefully without conceding four goals this time.

Midfielders
Xavi Simons – 17m
A man who would have been my top pick last week were it not for suspension, Xavi is back and may remain a differential with priorities elsewhere at the moment. A brace prior to the suspension last week illustrates his upside in a team that relies on his creativity.
Kevin Stöger – 15m
Once one of the most consistent assets in the game, Stoger has struggled a bit for consistency of both minutes and returns. Saying that, he got the start vs Dortmund and returned over 200 points whilst also demonstrating he is on penalties, so I like his chances of starting again and getting a return.
Johan Manzambi – 1m
Will he start again? Almost unexpectedly, Manzambi got the start at the weekend and got an assist along with a disallowed goal…the Freiburg attack is relatively stacked, so maybe this is a risk too far, but at 1m he could be worth the punt in a week where Bischof is suspended for the budget midfielder role.
Forwards
Tim Kleindienst – 12m
Big Tim has struggled in recent weeks, but a match against Kiel should be a good chance for the German international to come good. The upside of Kleindienst is that he can win dual aerially at both ends of the pitch which helps keep his score ticking over.
Hugo Ekitiké – 12m
Now out of Europe, Frankfurt will be looking to make sure they secure Champions League football next season. Leipzig have struggled for consistency and I can see Ekitike getting a decent return in this fixture.
Danel Sinani – 4m
A hero a couple of games ago, Sinani was quiet in the last fixture. However, this week a match vs Werder gives more opportunity for returns and Pauli will still want to get results to ensure a good first season back in the Bundesliga and ensure their safety.
