Best Players for FPL Double Gameweek 33

If you landed on this page, you’re probably not sure who to buy this week. If that is the case then you’re in the right place. This is because we reveal the best players FPL Double Gameweek 33 with the most potential right here!

Double Gameweeks are hugely important for FPL managers, so knowing who to buy can be crucial, so without any more fluff, let’s jump straight in!

Arsenal

Best Players for FPL Double Gameweek 33

Four teams play twice this week, and arguably the standout in regards to difficulty of opposition is Arsenal. The Gooners clash with both Ipswich and Crystal Palace next – the former are one of the worst sides in the league both defensively and offensively, whilst the latter’ form seems to have collapsed as of late.

The above makes the Arsenal defence an appealing target for FPL managers, especially when taking into account the fact they have one of the best backlines in the league statistically. There isn’t much between the Arsenal defensive assets, with goalkeeper David Raya (£5.5m), and centre-backs William Saliba (£6.5m) and Jakub Kiwior (£4.8m) being the most reliable in terms of minutes. Saliba’ lack of attacking threat and price-tag could make Kiwior the preferred defender looking ahead.

In attack, we could see plenty of rotation, but you won’t benefit if you don’t take the risk. One of those risks for two starts is penalty taker Bukayo Saka (£10.5m), who has had his minutes managed recently in the league. Two back-to-back league starts, and unconvincing Champions League minutes could make fellow midfielder Leandro Trossard (£6.7m) a good option. Out-of-position Mikel Merino (£6.1m) has started four of his sides five Premier League matches, he could also be a consideration.

Manchester City

Best Players for FPL Double Gameweek 33

Manchester City are another side who could have great potential this week. Pep Guardiola’ men come up against Everton and Aston Villa, which could see them clinch both clean sheets and attacking returns.

With key injuries to the likes of Manual Akanji, Nathan Ake and John Stones, the Manchester City backline is far from full strength. But, they still have key assets like centre-back Ruben Dias (£5.4m) and left-back Josko Gvardiol (£6.2m). Whilst the former is cheaper, the latter offers considerably more attacking threat.

Only Liverpool have scored more goals than Manchester City this season. So, trusting one of their attackers may be a wise decision. Evidently, the safest in terms of gametime, and the most effective is striker Omar Marmoush (£7.6m), who may be a priority. FPL managers looking for a good alternative, or just an option to combine with Marmoush, then midfielder Kevin De Bruyne (£9.3m) seems like the next best option. The Belgian leaves Manchester City at the end of the season, so he’ll likely want to exit on a high. He produced a goal and an assist in his previous game, showing he can still be hugely effective.

Crystal Palace & Aston Villa

Best Players for FPL Double Gameweek 33

Disappointment hit both Aston Villa and Crystal Palace during the week. Whilst Unai Emery’ men were suffering a Champions League exit at the hands of PSG, Crystal Palace had lost both of their Gameweek 32 matches 5-2 and 5-0 respectively. For that reason, and their tough upcoming fixtures, their assets are far less convincing than that of Arsenal and Manchester City.

But, it’s a double Gameweek, and anything can happen. So, if you’re looking at Crystal Palace assets for their games against Bournemouth and Arsenal, then they have several to choose from. Arguably still the standout is striker Jean Philippe-Mateta (£7.8m). He should recover penalty taking duty after a miss from Eberechi Eze (£6.9m), the latter is also still a good option, along with fellow midfielder Ismaila Sarr (£5.8m).

Aston Villa could be a lot more tricky when considering assets. Unai Emery appears to be constantly rotating his squad, especially in attack. At the back, goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez (£5m) is the safest option for minutes. Defender Ezri Konsa (£4.4m) is another great option for gametime. Midfielder Morgan Rogers (£5.7m) continues to be the safest attacker for minutes – with at least one return in each of his previous three games. Midfielder Marcus Rashford (£6.7m) and striker Ollie Watkins (£8.9m) are slightly riskier, but could be great punts for FPL managers.
