FPL Gameweek 33 Best Wildcard Team

Not sure how your Wildcard should look? Don’t fear, we have put together the FPL Gameweek 33 Best Wildcard Team, which should boost you up the rankings.

To do this, we use Fantasy Football Scout’s Members Area and the fantastic Plan FPL tool.

One of several chips provided by the game, the Wildcard allows managers to make an unlimited number of free transfers to their squad. The moves made in this one Gameweek can both fix problems and plan for the future. It’s an extremely useful weapon.

Fixtures

Below is Fantasy Football Scout’s ranking of fixture difficulty over the next six Gameweeks. Teams at the top have the easiest set, while teams at the bottom have the toughest ones.

Who has the best fixtures?

West Ham are deemed to have the nicest lot, although they’re winless in five, down in 17th place. A home clash with Southampton is a great way to begin some late-season form, though.

Four-in-a-row champions Man City have to be content with merely chasing a top-five spot this time. Their Double Gameweek 33 precedes a blank, but then meetings with Wolves and Southampton.

Elsewhere, Brentford have a promising run but they’re the definition of mid-table right now, with nothing to play for. Blank Gameweek 34 opponents Nottingham Forest are seeking a remarkable Champions League qualification but have lost consecutive matches at a bad time.

Who has the worst fixtures?

Once their Double Gameweek 32 is over, both Crystal Palace and Newcastle have a hard schedule.

There’s also a stumbling Chelsea and a Tottenham side that’s distracted by potential Europa League glory.

Best Gameweek 33 Wildcard

Using the PlanFPL website, here is the best Wildcard team for Gameweek 33 and beyond:

Defence

This squad doesn’t consider the Bench Boost and Triple Captain chips, both of which are highly preferred for this round of fixtures. Double Gameweek 33 is the exact inverse of Blank Gameweek 34, making it hard to go strong on the first while also having 11 men for the other.

Mark Flekken (£4.4m) covers the David Raya (£5.5m) blank, and his later Ipswich encounter can step in when the Spaniard visits Liverpool.

No defender has racked up more shots on target than Daniel Munoz‘s (£5.3m) dozen but Josko Gvardiol (£6.2m) is still ahead for big chances (10) and penalty area touches (88).

Conor Bradley (£4.7m) managed to bag a clean sheet when substituted on Sunday, before West Ham equalised. He’s here more for the short term, when Liverpool face Leicester and Tottenham.

Additionally, Tino Livramento (£4.6m) gets to host Ipswich in Blank Gameweek 34 and Neco Williams (£4.5m) is part of the league’s joint-best defence for clean sheets (13). One that still has motivation, too.

Midfield

So, to balance these two contrasting Gameweeks, the sacrifices being made are to have just one Crystal Palace asset and none at all from Aston Villa. You see, the fixture quality is actually poor for Morgan Rogers (£5.6m), Eberechi Eze (£6.9m) and Ismaila Sarr (£5.8m).

Of those who do make the grade, Bukayo Saka (£10.5m) is the leading captaincy contender for Double Gameweek 33. He takes penalties, scores plenty and is still the third-best for big chances created (19) despite missing months of action.

Let’s not forget the record-breaking FPL season of Mohamed Salah (£13.8m). Since Gameweek 15, he’s one of only two players to exceed the 15 attacking returns of incredibly cheap Newcastle attacker Jacob Murphy (£5.2m).

In between are two mid-priced talents that keep proving themselves as reliable talismen who are nailed-on for minutes. Bryan Mbeumo (£8.0m) and Jarrod Bowen (£7.5m) will feature in Blank Gameweek 34 and are amongst the top ten midfielders for points.

Forwards

This line-up has 10 men for the blank. Managers can either decide that’s a fair number, or use a free transfer to reach 11.

Omar Marmoush (£7.6m) is hard to ignore when bagging goals for such a high-scoring Man City, though there’s a slight chance that Jean-Philippe Mateta (£7.8m) loses game time following his half-time removal at the Etihad. His manager was critical.

That moves his FPL spot to Chris Wood (£6.9m). Back from injury but goalless in five, it doesn’t undo him having a great season that only Alexander Isak (£9.5m) can beat among forwards. The Swede hasn’t scored any of Newcastle’s last eight goals but is still an essential pick.
