Tuesday 4th March

There are plenty of good captaincy options on Tuesday. One team we could rely on is Real Madrid. Los Blancos have gained some serious scoring momentum in the Champions League – having netted at least three goals in all five of their previous matches.
Real Madrid have a meeting with La Liga rivals Atleti in the round of 16. Although third in their domestic league, Atleti have drawn three of their previous four matches. They also conceded a huge four goals to Barcelona in their most recent game.
Kylian Mbappe (€10.9m) may have scored a hattrick in their most recent European clash, but Vinicius Junior (€11.2m) has proven to be far more consistent in the Champions League. In fact, the Brazilian has already amassed a huge seven goals and two assists in just eight matches.
Tuesday Differentials

Although categorised into our differentials section. Dortmund have the potential to compete with Real Madrid in terms of the captaincy armband this week. On their day the German side can be fantastic, and their recent 2-0 win against Sporting CP in the Champions League, and huge 6-0 win against Union Berlin in the Bundesliga, both show that.
Lille lie ahead next, which is a great opportunity for Dortmund to gain an edge in the tie, especially at home. Spearheading the frontline is Serhou Guirassy (€8.2m), who as well as scoring 13 goals and one assist in the Bundesliga, he has also been relentless in the Champions League – bagging a huge 10 goals and three assists in just 10 matches.
There are plenty of differential picks for captaincy this week. UCL Fantasy managers could also consider Arsenal midfielder Leandro Trossard (€7m) against a leaky PSV defence away from home, and Real Madrid’ Kylian Mbappe, who we briefly touched upon above.
Wednesday 5th March

Picking a standout captaincy option on Wednesday could be extremely tough, especially when considering the level of quality across the board. However, when factoring in level of opposition, Barcelona could be the team to look to.
The Catalans have been exceptional this season offensively. Not only have they dominated their own league in terms of goals scored, they have also averaged a huge 3.5 goals scored per match in the Champions League, which is considerably higher than any other participant.
Benfica won’t be easy opposition for Barcelona, but the last time they faced, which was in the current Champions League campaign, the match ended 5-4 to the Spanish side. Among those goals, and contributing to a large proportion of their goals this season was penalty taker Robert Lewandowski (€9.6m). Leading one of the most dangerous attacks in Europe, the Polish international has managed 31 goals and assists across La Liga and the Champions League this season.
Wednesday Differentials

Categorising Mohamed Salah (€10.1m) as a differential captaincy option feels slightly criminal, but when directly comparing fixture difficulty with Barcelona, the latter have the edge. That does not mean Salah can’t outscore Robert Lewandowski.
Although less prolific offensively than the Catalans, Liverpool have scored an average of 2+ goals in both the Premier League and Champions League. They also have the best attacker in world football currently playing for them.
Touching upon his relentless form this season, Salah has already mustered up a mammoth 25 goals and 17 assists domestically this season, that’s an eye-watering 42 goal contributions in 28 matches. This is without taking into account his three goals and four assists from the Champions League. Not many sides have prevented Salah from returning this campaign, and PSG could be another who fail to stop him.
Don’t discount Barcelona midfielder and set piece taker Raphinha (€7.7m). The Brazilian has been crucial for the Catalans this season – with eight goals and four assists in just eight Champions League matches.
