FPL Gameweek 27 Top 5 Best Players to Buy on Deadline Day

Last modified date

The new round of Fantasy Premier League is here. For that reason we pick out the FPL Gameweek 27 top 5 players to buy on deadline day. To do this we consider several different factors including player form, statistics and fixture difficulty.

FPL Deadline days can be some of the most stressful and exciting times of the season. Because of that we clear out the noise and pick five players you should be considering in your team ahead of the new round. We’ll avoid players like Mohamed Salah, Cole Palmer and Alexander Isak due to their already high ownership. So, lets dive in.

Bryan Mbeumo

Brentford aren’t exactly one of the most consistent sides in the league, but they have won three of their previous four league matches, which show they are in form.

The Bees come up against Everton at home this week, which could a great opportunity to continue their form. Everton may have improved in terms of results, but the Toffees have shipped two goals in two of their previous three league matches.

The above plays into the hands of Bryan Mbeumo (£8m). The midfielder and penalty taker has been fantastic this season, and his recent 19-point haul against Southampton, and 14-point haul in the previous round, reflects just how explosive he can be.

Matheus Cunha

Wolves were in a torrid run of form recently, but fixtures played a huge role in that – playing the likes of Nottingham Forest, Newcastle, Chelsea and Liverpool. But around that time, they also edged both Aston Villa and Bournemouth.

This week Wolves clash with Fulham, a side who have kept just one clean sheet in their previous eight league matches. Matheus Cunha (£6.9m) could well scrutinise the ropey Cottagers backline, especially when taking into account that the penalty taker has bagged a goal in every one of his last three matches.

Jarrod Bowen

West Ham’ recent 1-0 win against Arsenal could be a turning point. The Hammers will be hoping to maintain some consistency soon, which could propel them well away from the relegation zone.

As well as playing in Blank Gameweek 29, like all of the options noted thus far, West Ham come up against promoted side Leicester this week.

The Foxes rank second worst in the league for total goals conceded this season. So, targeting them with Jarrod Bowen (£7.3m) could prove hugely rewarding. The West Ham talisman heads into the round in very good form – having bagged a 10-point return in two of his previous three matches.

Norberto Beto

Brentford may be very effective offensively, but they rank among the worst three teams in the league for underlying defensive metrics including total attempts on goal, shots in the box and shots on target.

The Everton attack will be hoping to take advantage of the Bees ropey defence this week. In excellent form currently, David Moyes and his men have secured four wins and two draws in his last six matches, scoring 14 goals along the way.

Enforcing the form above was striker Norberto Beto (£5m). Since Gameweek 23, Beto has returned at least once in all four of his matches – racking up an impressive five goals.

Pedro Neto

Consistency may be an issue for Chelsea, but they have recently faced tricky opposition like Aston Villa, Brighton and Manchester City. Fixtures breed form and Chelsea come up against the two leakiest defences in the league next up.

Cole Palmer is the second highest owned player in the game, so benefitting from Chelsea goals will be limiting. One way around this could be with Pedro Neto (£6.2m), who has returned in two of his previous three matches.
