Serie A Fantasy Round 23 Top Picks
The new season continues so we reveal the Serie A Fantasy Round 23 top picks. Regular contributor and Serie A expert @FPL_Crisk comes in to pick out two of the best players in each position for the new round.
It isn’t long before the new Round commences. So, knowing which players have the most potential could be hugely beneficial. It could also help with other parts of the game including captaincy, chip strategies and long-term transfer plans.
Note: this article was written before the midweek fixtures in various UEFA competitions.
Goalkeepers – Michele Di Gregorio (€6.0m – 17.9%)
It’s a very tricky Round ahead in terms of defensive assets. Last week only Genoa, Torino and Inter managed to keep a full clean sheet (and all of them will have a tough away fixture this week). For that reason Juve’s backline seems as good as it gets, against Empoli, who haven’t won since early December.
Wladimiro Falcone (€4.8m – 3.2%)
Lecce are struggling but so are Parma, their next opponents. I’m expecting a tight game between two teams at the edge of a relegation battle. Falcone gets the edge because he tends to get a decent amount of points no matter his team’s performance on the pitch.
Defenders – Robin Gosens (€5.6m – 17.5%)
Gosens registered his first attacking return in over 10 matches against Lazio, and he’s now third among the best defenders in the game for points. Genoa at home can be a very affordable fixture for Fiorentina despite the good form of their opponents.
Giovanni Di Lorenzo (€7.4m – 55.6%)
Given the absence of outstanding defensive fixtures during this Round, Di Lorenzo becomes by default one of the best picks. The Napoli RB is performing so much better than any other assets in the game, averaging over eight points per round.
Midfielders – Mattia Zaccagni (€7.4m – 37.9%)
Zaccagni has been hit and miss lately, but an easy fixture against Cagliari could be the right one for a massive haul. Lazio were also unlucky against Fiorentina, as they only scored one goal from 2xG, so I am expecting them to still be reliable offensively.
Alassane Diao (€4.6m – 0.2%)
Como’s fixtures are very bad, but they are still performing very well, managing still to score in tough matchups against the likes of Milan and Atalanta, taking both teams to the limit. New signing Diao is cutting himself a massive spot in the team, starting three consecutive matches (scoring in two). The Spanish U21 is definitely one to watch.
Forwards – Moise Kean (€5.6m – 59.2%)
Kean has been a very consistent performer this season. I feel like there are close to no doubts on him now. Next, he faces a lovely home match against Genoa, who have only managed to win against weaker sides.
Nikola Krstovic (€5.6m – 3.2%)
Somehow, Krstovic has managed to break the 100 seasonal points mark, which is very surprising as he’s only managed to score six goals. Still, he is very nailed and he got a brace a couple of weeks ago. He faces Parma next, who seem very shaky at the moment.
