In this article we take a look at the Fantasy EFL top picks for Gameweek 25. We bring in our expert and regular Fantasy EFL contributor @FPLEdgeworth to reveal his top picks in each position, and the best teams to target.
Our Fantasy EFL Fantasy top picks for Gameweek 25 can be hugely beneficial for fantasy managers. Knowing who the best players to own in each position and the best teams to select are, could be hugely beneficial for the round ahead.
Goalkeepers – Alex Bass – Notts County
Starting off this week’s top picks is Notts County goalkeeper Bass, who is currently the top scorer in his position in League One and League Two. This week Notts County will be looking to continue their clean sheet form after bagging one in each of their last two games. Interestingly, Bromley and Carlisle have both failed to score in their previous matches, which is who they face this week.
Matt Macey – Colchester United
Next up is Macey, who plays for Colchester. Although a mid-table side Colchester have been very impressive defensively recently – with eight clean sheets in their last 11 games. This week they play Morecambe and Port Vale, and although the latter could be tough, they play Port Vale on a Tuesday night at home, which should give them an advantage.
Defenders – Mickey Demetriou – Crewe Alexandra
A player who has featured in my top picks many times this season, Demetriou. The Crewe centre-back is currently the highest-scoring player in the game. Crewe come up against Accrington and Wimbledon next, and although the latter is a tough matchup on paper, those type of games suit Demetriou. He may not get the clean sheet, but he can collect plenty of points via defensive actions.
Lloyd Jones – Charlton Athletic
Also featuring this week is Jones, who plays for Charlton. He is another player who has been impressive recently, returning seven or more points in all but one of his last eight games. As well as that, this week, Charlton face Shrewsbury and Bristol Rovers, two teams that are towards the bottom of the league.
Midfielders – Thelo Aasgaard – Wigan Athletic
Aasgaard could be a very good pick in midfield this week. The Wigan maestro may have suffered through a period of coming up short, but he netted in both of his previous two matches. Bristol Rovers and Peterborough could offer up fantastic opportunities for him to continue his purple patch.
Davis Keillor-Dunn – Barnsley
Another player hitting form recently is Keillor-Dunn of Barnsley. He has scored four goals in his last five games. Stevenage and Wycombe lay ahead, so he should return to the scoresheet once more. These matches are crucial if Barnsley want to maintain their spot in the playoff positions, but they go into the round in form.
Forwards – David McGoldrick – Notts County
Moving onto the forwards sees Notts County’s second player included in this week’s top picks. David McGoldrick is in amazing form at the moment – with four goals in his last two games. As well as that, this week, as previously mentioned, Notts County play Bromley and Carlisle, who both lost their previous match, so McGoldrick has two good openings to return.
Will Evans – Mansfield Town
I have picked out a differential forward next up, in Evans. Evans is quietly one of the best options this week, with four goals in his last five games. He plays two teams in the relegation zone, Crawley and Cambridge. With this in mind, Evans could have a fantastic round ahead.
Teams to Target
- Notts County – Notts County sit just one point off the automatic spots. This week, with matches at home against bottom-placed Carlisle and mid-table Bromley, two wins is a must. In both reverse fixtures, which were played away from home, they won both. All factors combine to make Notts County a very appealing side this week.
- Mansfield – They are another side fighting for something. They reside four points off the play-offs but have games in hand on all of the teams around them. This means that if they win this week they could find themselves in the play-offs. The fact they meet with two sides who are in the relegation zone is also a huge appeal.
