Serie A Fantasy Round 22 Top Picks

The new season continues so we reveal the Serie A Fantasy Round 22 top picks. Regular contributor and Serie A expert @FPL_Crisk comes in to pick out two of the best players in each position for the new round.

It isn’t long before the new Round commences. So, knowing which players have the most potential could be hugely beneficial. It could also help with other parts of the game including captaincy, chip strategies and long-term transfer plans.

Note: this article was written before the midweek fixtures in various UEFA competitions.

Goalkeepers – Vanja Milinkovic-Savic (€6.8m – 22.9%)

Serie A Fantasy Round 22 Top Picks

The top scoring goalkeeper in the game has an early kick-off home match against Cagliari. The Serbian shot-stopper is reliable in almost every fixture, so I wouldn’t worry too much about Cagliari scoring four past Lecce last week.

Nicola Leali (€4.8m – 1.2%)

There aren’t too many standouts between the goalkeepers this week. Leali has been a starter for Genoa since Round 8, and in the last few week’s his team underlying numbers have been improving. Genoa play at home against Monza in what I expect to be a very tight affair.

Denzel Dumfries (€5.8m – 5.9%)

Serie A Fantasy Round 22 Top Picks

Probably the most in-form defender in all of Europe. Four goals for him in January, two in the Supercup and two last week. Lately he has been getting more minutes as Pavard and Darmian have shared the RCB spot whilst Bisseck is injured. Lecce have conceded more xG than their opposition during the last month, which is certainly a good sign for the (very attacking) Dutch wing-back.

Theo Hernandez (€7.2m – 56.9%)

Parma look very harmless in attack right now: Man and Bonny have seen their minutes being slashed as of late, and when they’re on the field they don’t find the back of the net. For this reason an AC Milan defender is the way to go this week, with Theo Hernandez being the obvious standout option.

Midfielders – Ademola Lookman (€9.8m – 68.0%)

Serie A Fantasy Round 22 Top Picks

The highest scoring midfielder in the game has an affordable fixture at Como to help Atalanta bounce back after a disappointing couple of matches. In the same exact fixture I also want to give a shoutout to Alassane Diallo (€4.4m) from Como. He scored in both of his two starts after moving from Spain. Keep an eye on him for future fixtures.

Rafael Leao (€11.4m – 49.4%)

Parma have not been as good as they looked at the start of the season, losing key points for the relegation battle against direct opponents. It could be the right time for Leao to explode and help Milan find a much needed home victory.

Forwards – Lautaro Martinez (€12.4m – 59.4%)

It would be boring if I had Thuram multiple weeks in a row, but also Lautaro’s form now is undeniable: three goals in his last four appearances for the Serie A Champions. Just be aware that this match is sandwiched between two UCL matches so his minutes could be slightly lowered.

Santiago Castro (€4.6m – 9.9%)

Serie A Fantasy Round 22 Top Picks

Lately his form has picked up, scoring against both Inter and Monza last week. He’s a good option who could cover Orsolini if you don’t want to spend lots of money on a Bologna attacking player.
