Serie A Fantasy Round 20 Top Picks
The new season continues so we reveal the Serie A Fantasy Round 20 top picks. Regular contributor and Serie A expert @FPL_Crisk comes in to pick out two of the best players in each position for the new round.
It isn’t long before the new Gameweek commences. So, knowing which players have the most potential could be hugely beneficial. Getting off to a good start in every fantasy game is important for both rank and mini-league position.
Goalkeepers – Yann Sommer (€7.2m – 17.9%)
With a match against relegation candidate Venezia first, every single point gathered in the second match vs Bologna will be a bonus. If he gets less than 9-10 points in this next Round, I would be incredibly surprised.
Michele Di Gregorio (€6.0m – 17.7%)
He’s a little behind in the goalkeeper rankings, mostly because Thiago Motta occasionally rotates him with Perin. With two important fixtures against Atalanta and Torino in the derby, I strongly doubt the manager will take minutes away from him. Juventus do usually concede a lot of goals, and even should they give away a couple, it could still result in a double-digit result for the former Monza shot stopper.
Defenders – Theo Hernandez (€7.0m – 53.3%)
Not only do AC Milan have the best double fixture of the Round (Cagliari and Como), but they also have a pretty affordable run of games going after that. Despite being rotated by Fonseca, Conceicao has shown trust in the French LB, starting him in both Supercup matches. Theo repaid that trust with a very important free kick goal in the final against Inter. If you’re still afraid of its minutes, Malick Thiaw seems to be Milan’s most nailed CB at the moment.
Giovanni Di Lorenzo (€7.4m – 54.3%)
Napoli defenders are among the few players able to match the doublers point for point. A home match against Verona lays up next for Di Lorenzo, a fixture where he could easily bring home clean sheets and attacking returns.
Midfielders – Christian Pulisic (€9.2m – 58.9%)
The American scored and delivered great performances in both Supercup matches, despite not being fully match-fit. Milan have a lot of great fantasy midfielders in Pulisic, Leao and Reijnders. The former two have the best underlying numbers, but Pulisic having penalty duty gives him a slight edge over the other two.
Ademola Lookman (€9.8m – 64.8%)
With Retegui very unlikely to make both games in the double Round due to injury, Lookman looks like the star option from Atalanta. The talisman of the team is lonely at the top among the best midfielders in the game, so it would be foolish not to go for him (especially on WC), despite the two games being against ok to very good sides in Udinese and Juventus.
Forwards – Marcus Thuram (€9.4m – 63.5%)
He was injured during the Supercup semi-final. But, Thuram still appeared on the bench for the final. Even if his minutes are managed during the double, he is still the top striker in the game, having by far surpassed his partner Lautaro Martinez (at least during this season). Just keep informed about his condition, just in case it gets worse.
Romelu Lukaku (€10.6m – 21.0%) & Moise Kean (€5.6m – 56.1%)
Double the Round, double the choice. I really couldn’t decide between the two. Their form is kind of equal with one goal, one penalty goal and one assist in their last five matches. Both face very easy opponents in Verona and Monza respectively. Kean is much cheaper but Lukaku plays for a better side and is consistently on penalties. If you haven’t doubled up on Napoli defence, even going for the both of them could be a great strategy as there aren’t many viable forwards.
