In this article we take a look at @LPbroadcasts Fantasy EFL team reveal for Gameweek 19. Our expert shares his team, rationale around each pick and discusses the two teams he is backing to win for the new round.
Our Fantasy EFL team reveal for Gameweek 19 could be very helpful for fantasy managers. Knowing who our expert picks could be extremely enlightening. It could also bring clarity to some of the decisions we have to make in our own teams.
Team Reveal
Goalkeeper
No differential in goal for me this week, I’m backing Sheffield United’s Michael Cooper. The Blades host Plymouth Argyle at Bramall Lane, who have been poor on their travels. The Pilgrims are bottom of the away table, and have only scored three goals this season away from home. Another shutout for Cooper looks set in stone.
Defenders
Partnering Cooper, Harry Souttar returns to my side following suspension. The Socceroo has banked 118 points, and is pivotal to Chris Wilder’s side. Wrexham’s Max Cleworth is a consistent performer, and his recent form, including four goals and two assists, solidifies his position as a top defensive option. Given Cambridge United’s struggles on the road, particularly their low goal-scoring output, Cleworth and Wrexham’s strong home advantage make them favourites to secure a positive result.
Finally, and as a differential with 0% ownership, Leyton Orient’s Tom James makes my team. The wing-back has two goals and three assists to his name, including back to back double-digit hauls. With Burton Albion visiting Brisbane Road Leyton Orient’s defensive prowess could lead to a third clean sheet in a row. With their attacking form, additional points are on the cards.
Midfielders
I’m not thrilled by midfield options this week, and these picks could easily change as their deadlines approach. Nevertheless, MK Dons’ Alex Gilbey has been their main output this season, scoring nine goals and providing one assist in 17, totalling 115 points. The number eight has delivered three consecutive big hauls and hasn’t blanked since GW10. They’re unbeaten against Gillingham (H) since 2014, and their in-form vice-captain is poised to continue their dominant run.
To partner him, Cheltenham Town’s Ethon Archer is a great differential with less than 1% ownership. The winger has five goals and five assists to his name for the Robins, banking 113 points in 19 matches. The Robins face 22nd-placed Morecambe (H), who, although have been better on the road, sit in the relegation spots.
Forward
League One record signing Jay Stansfield is an easy pick this week and could easily wear the armband for my side. The number 28 has nine goals and two assists in 12 matches, totalling 78 points. Having netted in five consecutive matches, Stansfield’s impressive form, coupled with the team’s undefeated home record, suggests he will continue to be a significant contributor when they face Bristol Rovers (H).
Team Selections
I am completely torn and this will go down to the wire. with an unappealing TGW21, Sheffield United vs Plymouth feels the standout for the week. Equally, Wycombe’s remarkable 16-game unbeaten run should be extended when they travel to 24th-placed Shrewsbury Town, who have only won two home games in nine attempts.
However, if I decide to look at differentials, the O’s are standouts to me. Their impressive run, coupled with Burton’s form, could see their third consecutive maximum return for backers. Bring it on!
