Serie A Fantasy Round 16 Top Picks
The new season continues so we reveal the Serie A Fantasy Round 16 top picks. Regular contributor and Serie A expert @FPL_Crisk comes in to pick out two of the best players in each position for the new round.
It isn’t long before the new Gameweek commences. So, knowing which players have the most potential could be hugely beneficial. Getting off to a good start in every fantasy game is important for both rank and mini-league position.
Goalkeepers – Michele Di Gregorio (€6.0m – 17.6%)
This pick also includes Mattia Perin, as Thiago Motta has shown himself not shy of rotating his goalkeepers against weaker sides. Their opponents Venezia aren’t very prolific and against Como only scored by accident or directly from corner, not exactly something that can repeated each Round.
Devis Vasquez (€4.0m – 23.7%)
He somehow dropped in price back to 4.0m, making him even more of a steal (he is still ranking as the 2nd best keeper, and 11th best overall player in the game). He faces Torino who have only scored once in their last six matches.
Defenders – Pierre Kalulu (€4.8m – 3.9%)
Thiago Motta has subbed Gatti late in the second half for a couple of games in a row, which leads me to believe that Kalulu is now the most nailed CB for Juve. With Cambiaso in doubt for the next game, the French defender has the chance to outscore his partners.
Georgios Kyriakopoulos (€4.6m – 10.5%)
Despite Monza being one of the worst teams, Kyriakopoulos has sneaked between the best defenders in the game. He has shown he can provide returns, and defensively his team isn’t half bad. Next match, Lecce: despite the new manager bounce, they haven’t been able to score more than once per match.
Midfielders – Rafael Leao (€11.4m – 37.8%)
With Pulisic out, it is up to Leao to lead Milan’s attack. Only two goals for him in the last five League matches, but in the meantime he has appeared on the scoresheet both in the Italian Cup and in the UEFA Champions League.
Dennis Man (€5.6m – 47.6%)
Verona are in incredibly bad form and Parma would really benefit from three points to widen the gap between them and the other relegation candidates. They also play at home, where they managed to beat teams like Milan and Lazio. Man is by far Parma’s best player and talisman, so I would for sure be counting on him.
Forwards – Mateo Retegui (€6.8m – 66.6%)
He was rested last week against Milan for tactical reasons, but I doubt Gasperini is going to bench again his best goal scorer. Two goals in his last five bouts (started only in three) isn’t also that bad of a tally to jump off him yet.
Yoan-Ange Bonny (€4.4m – 10.7%)
Many managers have had him since Round 1 as a great enabler: while his form isn’t the best (one goal in five matches), his xMins should be boosted by the fact that his usual substitute (Charpentier) is out for the better part of the season with a knee injury. Also, as I said before, Verona are a bad enough opponent to be counting on your cheap assets for points.
