In this article we take a look at the top 10 most popular FPL picks for Gameweek 13. Using the Official Fantasy Premier League ownership data we can find out who the fantasy football community are picking ahead of the new round.
Taking a look at the most popular FPL picks for Gameweek 13 can be hugely enlightening for fantasy managers. Knowing who the majority are selecting within their sides can help you make moves in your team ahead of the new round.
Note: Ownership statistics will inevitably change throughout the week
1. Erling Haaland – 61.8% Ownership
Dropping around 2% ownership, but remaining the most selected asset in FPL ahead of Gameweek 13 is Erling Haaland (£15.2m). The Norwegian arguably has the toughest match on paper this week as he clashes with Liverpool away from home. Because of that and recent form, we could see his ownership continue to dip as we approach the deadline.
2. Cole Palmer – 54.4% Ownership
One player who seems to be increasingly popular week on week, is Cole Palmer (£10.9m). Chelsea have an interesting home fixture against Aston Villa next up. At first glance, their fixture may appear very difficult, but Unai Emery’s men have shipped six goals in their last two away matches.
3. Mohamed Salah – 52.3% Ownership
Mohamed Salah (£13m) has increased in ownership by 2% this week, which means he is just 2% behind second most popular Cole Palmer. The Liverpool attacker has been in relentless form this season, but with a meeting against Manchester City next, will that continue?
4. Bryan Mbeumo – 41.7% Ownership
With the fourth highest ownership in the game ahead of Gameweek 13, Bryan Mbeumo (£7.9m) comfortably sustains his position in the top five. Before an awkward run of fixtures, the in-form Mbeumo clashes with Leicester, which could be a good opportunity to add to his exceptional start to the campaign.
5. Josko Gvardiol – 31.8% Ownership
Another player cementing his position amongst the top five is Josko Gvardiol (£6.3m). The Croatian has returned in three of his previous four matches, so he has form at his side. But, this week a match against one of the best sides in the league, Liverpool, could be limiting for his overall potential.
The Rest of the Top 10
Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya (£5.5m) and midfielder Bukayo Saka (£10.1m) keep their position in the top 10. Both come up against West Ham this week, an inconsistent side who have shown weakness both defensively and offensively this season.
Emile Smith Rowe (£5.8m) has gained an additional 1% ownership since last week. This isn’t a surprise after scoring in his most recent game against Crystal Palace. This week, he clashes with Tottenham, which could see his good form continue.
Trying to defend his clean sheet against Emile Smith Rowe is Tottenham full-back Pedro Porro (£5.5m). Porro has dropped around 1% ownership since Gameweek 12, mostly due to his poor recent form.
Entering the top 10 for the first time this season is Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood (£6.6m). Wood scored eight goals in his first 11 matches and faces one of the worst defences in the league next up in Ipswich.
