Best Chelsea Players to Buy in FPL

Last modified date

The international break continues so whilst we have time to plan ahead we take a look at the best Chelsea players to buy in FPL. To do this we head over to the Fantasy Football Scout members area to use its fantastic tools.

Finding the best Chelsea players to buy in FPL could be hugely rewarding for managers. The Blues have been in brilliant form this season, sitting third in the league because of their efforts. Now their fixtures are turning for the better, so it could be a great opportunity to bring in some of their players.

Fixtures

When ordering the Fantasy Football Scout fixture ticker, we can see that Chelsea rank at the top, which suggests they have the best fixtures across the next 10 Gameweeks.

The Blues don’t play a single ‘tough’ game according to their schedule, and they also come up against all three of the promoted sides.

The fixtures warrant investment, but who do we go for?

Minutes

Knowing how reliable players have been thus far in terms of gametime can be hugely important. Comparing minutes can reveal the safer picks, but also the players who could pose as a rotation risk.

No player has managed over 1000 minutes yet for Chelsea this season. But, goalkeeper Robert Sanchez (£4.7m) and centre-back Levi Colwill (£4.5m) come close with 990 and 988 minutes respectively.

Joining the above in the 900+ minutes camp are midfielders Moises Caicedo (£4.9m) and Cole Palmer (£10.9m).

Not far behind is the likes of centre-back Wesley Fofana (£4.5m), striker Nicolas Jackson (£7.9m) and midfielder Noni Madueke (£6.4m).

Attacking threat

Knowing who is going to play is important, but understanding which of them have the best attacking threat is also a crucial factor.

Leading amongst the attackers is of course Cole Palmer. Palmer has racked up more goal contributions and a better non-penalty expected goal involvement than his attacking teammates. He also takes his sides penalties, which is another factor we should consider.

Just three goal contributions behind Palmer is Nicolas Jackson with nine. Jackson has also produced just 0.19 NPXGI short of him. Noni Madueke and midfielder Pedro Neto (£6.2m) follow behind with four and three goal contributions respectively.

Amongst the defenders, not one player has produced a goal or an assist thus far. However, edging their defensive teammates for NPXGI is full-back Malo Gusto (£4.9m) with 1.50 and Levi Colwill with 0.98.

Top Picks

Best Chelsea Players to Buy in FPL

There is little doubt that the standout attacking option at Chelsea is Cole Palmer, so he is definitely the priority. However, for those with less cash to spend, or for those who simply want to double up on the Chelsea frontline, then Nicolas Jackson could be the best option.

Jackson continues to start every match for the Blues, whilst also producing several less goal contributions but a close enough NPXGI to Palmer. It is worth mentioning that he currently sits on four yellow cards. You can check the full list of players who are suspended or close to suspension here.

For FPL managers who want to dip into the Chelsea midfield at a much lower cost to Palmer, or in addition of, then Pedro Neto stands out. Although Noni Madueke is superior when it comes to minutes Neto has produced just one less attacking return that him.

Neto also seems to be gaining the trust of manager Enzo Maresca, starting all three of his last Premier League matches. It also helps that he has produced a goal contribution in two of those three outings.

Best Chelsea Players to Buy in FPL

It is clear that there is a lack of attacking threat amongst the Chelsea defensive assets. With that in mind, and taking into account goalkeeper inconsistencies in general this season, it could be worth backing Robert Sanchez.

Although, for FPL managers seeking out a defender option, then Levi Colwill could be their best pick. Colwill has maintained the second most game time, and the second most NPXGI since the start of the season.

Based on historical threat, it could be worth monitoring the likes of full-backs Malo Gusto and Reece James (£4.9m). Both players have suffered from injuries, but if they can sustain gametime, then they could be great options.
