Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 10 Top Picks

Last modified date

The new season of German League football continues! So, we take a look at the Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 10 top picks. Bundesliga Fantasy expert and regular contributor @FPLGunnersaurus reveals three of the best defenders, midfielders and forwards for the new round.

The Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 10 top picks can be extremely useful for managers. With lots of changes to the game this season it could be difficult to adjust for managers. But the following top picks can help you bring clarity to some of the decisions you have to make ahead of the deadline.

Note: This has been written on Wednesday, midway through an action packed week of European football. Please also remember we have an unlimited transfers period after this matchday once again due to another international break. So, make your transfers based on this matchday alone.

Defenders – Premium – Alejandro Grimaldo (20m / 39% TSB / B04)

With only one goal and one assist to his name so far, poor by his standards, Grimaldo is only owned by 39% of all fantasy managers. His output and price tag are perhaps putting fantasy managers off him. Yet, he is still the highest scoring defender in the game.

Given however that Leverkusen travel to Bundesliga bottom side Bochum, Grimaldo in your team and as your star defender should be an absolute no-brainer this matchday.

Mid-price – Willi Orban (11m / 21% / RBL)

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 10 Top Picks

Leipzig centre-back Orban is currently the most in-form player in the fantasy game, even beating the likes of Kane and Marmoush. In a losing effort to Dortmund on MD9 he still managed to return 221pts. This was his fifth 200pts+ return since MD4.

We know he likes a goal too, with back-to-back goals on MD7 and MD8. Leipzig host Gladbach on MD10 in a match-up I can see the Hungarian picking up another decent fantasy return.

Budget – Tom Rothe (7m / 21% TSB / FCU)

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 10 Top Picks

Someone you might fancy for the Friday night fixture is Union Berlin left wing-back Rothe as his side host Freiburg. The Germany U21 international was benched for Union’s 3-0 MD9 loss at Bayern. But, coach Svensson explained it was a tactical decision just for that game to drop him and play Leite in his position instead to try and stop Olise.

He is expected to come back into the starting XI in a side that haven’t yet lost at home this season and have only conceded three goals at Die Stadion An der Alten Försterei.

Midfielders – Premium – Jamal Musiala (20m / 22% TSB / FCB)

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 10 Top Picks

I’d be mad to go a whole article without mentioning at least one Bayern player. I think there’ll be some rotation on MD10 away to St. Pauli. But, I’m fairly certain Bambi still starts on Saturday afternoon in his favoured CAM position.

These away games against ‘weaker’ opposition are games he thrives in having registered his three top fantasy scores so far this season on the road, with a season high of 412pts at Bremen on MD4. It wouldn’t shock me either to see him surpass his season high score on MD10.

Mid-price – Nadiem Amiri (13m / 3% TSB / M05)

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 10 Top Picks

This pick is largely due to the away form of MD10 opponents Dortmund, especially after they’ve played UCL football in midweek. After each of their UCL games so far Dortmund have lost an away game. With UCL action midweek for Die Schwarzgelben and an away trip to Mainz will this be four consecutive away losses on the trot?

Mainz’s midfield maestro Amiri will be trying to inflict further away pain on them in what would be their first home win of the season too, should they manage it.

Budget – Alexis Claude-Maurice (6m / 8% TSB / FCA)

After a brace on MD8 against Dortmund and hauling 419pts in Bundesliga Fantasy a number of managers brought the Frenchman in for the MD9 game away to Wolfsburg. That may have been the wrong game to bring him in for.

However, a game at home to Hoffenheim on MD10 is definitely the right time to bring him in if you didn’t do so last matchday. This is especially considering the visitors are winless on the road so far this season.

Forwards – Premium – Victor Boniface (18m / 7% TSB / B04)

Expensive? Yes. A rotation risk considering a midweek UCL tie away at Liverpool? Yes. If I didn’t pick Boniface though as my top premium option however I’d be a fool. As mentioned earlier Die Werkself have a plum fixture against Bochum. They have the leakiest defence in the league, shipping 29 goals so far at over an average of three per game.

We’ve definitely not yet seen the Boniface of last season. However, he has still picked up six goals in his nine appearance so far. You’d expect him to add to those numbers against Bochum without a doubt.

Mid-price – Marvin Ducksch (10m / 5% TSB / SVW)

Bremen will be hampered by the loss of talisman Weiser after he picked up a one game suspension last time out. That said, considering they host Kiel a player from Die Werderaner should be on your radar still for MD10 and for me that player is forward Ducksch.

In his last three games his form has improved with two goals and three assists, with a season high top score of 321pts on MD7. Given the fixture Ducksch definitely deserves consideration as a one week punt.

Budget – Léo Scienza (6m / 2% TSB / HDH)

My budget pick for this matchday up front is Heidenheim’s Brazilian forward Scienza. Given there aren’t many great bargain basement options this week he’s probably the best of a bad bunch.

Having started the last three games he should be assured of a start against MD10 opponents Wolfsburg. In his last three games he’s averaged 33.2pts per million spent which is more than you can ask for from a budget asset.
