Taking a look at the most popular FPL picks for Gameweek 11 can be hugely enlightening for fantasy managers. Knowing who the majority are selecting within their sides can help you make moves in your team ahead of the eighth round.
Note: Ownership statistics will inevitably change throughout the week
1. Erling Haaland – 72.3% Ownership
Although unmovable in first place, Erling Haaland (£15.4m) has dropped around 1% of his ownership in the space of a week. That number is likely to increase due to his questionable recent form and increasingly difficult fixtures. Brighton next however remains a good opportunity for the Norwegian to add to his season tally.
2. Cole Palmer – 56% Ownership
Cementing his place as the second most popular asset in the game ahead of Gameweek 11 is Cole Palmer (£11m). His 2% rise in ownership on the previous round is likely due to the 10-point return he claimed against Newcastle recently. He faces tough opposition against Arsenal this week so his potential could well be limited.
3. Mohamed Salah – 41.7% Ownership
Rising sharply week on week is Mohamed Salah (£12.7m) with 41.7% ownership. That number is very likely to increase as we approach the deadline. The Egyptian has been the most explosive asset in the game this season and is heading into a fair run of fixtures, starting with a home game against Aston Villa.
4. Bryan Mbeumo – 39.8% Ownership
The biggest rise in ownership ahead of the new round could well be Bryan Mbeumo (£7.7m). The Brentford attacker has gained an additional 5% since last week due to his relentless form recently and a home match against Bournemouth next could be another fantastic opportunity for him to return.
5. David Raya – 30.1% Ownership
Clinging onto his top five position by just 0.1% is David Raya (£5.6m). The Arsenal goalkeeper, at the time of writing, has failed to keep a clean sheet in any of his previous five matches which could be seen as unacceptable considering his price point. The Spaniard may struggle again in Gameweek 11 against high flying Chelsea.
The Rest of the Top 10
Banging on David Raya’s door for fifth spot is Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.1m) with 30% ownership. The Reds have a tough fixture against Aston Villa this week but go into the round having kept more clean sheets than any other side this season.
Scoring two goals already this season and going into Gameweek 11 with 29.5% ownership is Josko Gvardiol (£6.2m). The Croatian picked up an injury last week so his gametime could be a concern for the clash against Brighton.
Mid to higher priced defenders seem to be popular but that could soon change. Pedro Porro (£5.5m) has been disappointing recently, however, Ipswich lay ahead which could see him pick up a clean sheet, an attacking return or both.
Dropping in ownership by 2% but keeping ninth spot from the previous round is Ollie Watkins (£9.1m). Before his fixtures ease he must face the best current defence in the league next up, Liverpool. Completing the top 10 but also dropping in ownership is Liverpool’s Luis Diaz (£7.8m) who started just one of his sides previous three league games.
