The fourth round of the Champions League is about to begin and so we continue coverage by reeling off the UCL Fantasy Matchday 4 best differentials. To help us we consider lots of different factors including team and player form, fixture difficulty and stats.
Differentials are players who have low ownership. Owning a differential who has success can be extremely influential on both mini-league position and overall rank. Because of this checking out our UCL Fantasy Matchday 4 differentials can be extremely beneficial.
Martin Baturina – 0% Ownership
GNK Dinamo have been inconsistent in terms of results this campaign But, the Croatian side have also netted twice in each of their first three Champions League matches. Taking great scoring form into a game against a Slovan Bratislava side who rank joint worst for goals conceded so far, GNK Dinamo could offer great value for money this week.
Taking his sides free-kicks and corners, 21-year-old Martin Baturina (€6.1m) is becoming a main stay in the GNK Dinamo attack. The rising star has racked up six assists and one goal domestically, whilst also showing his quality in the Champions League – scoring, assisting and claiming the player of the match award against Monaco recently.
Christian Pulisic – 4% Ownership
After a rough start in Europe’s biggest club competition, a 3-1 win against Club Brugge in Matchday 3 means Milan picked up their first three points. Confidence could be high going into their match against Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Real Madrid may seem like a daunting fixture to attack, but after conceding two goals against Dortmund and four goals to Barcelona in their recent home matches the Spaniards have it in them to capitulate defensively. Who better to take advantage of their defensive form than penalty taker and midfielder Christian Pulisic (€7.5m). The American has started his campaign exceptionally – notching up five goals and three assists in just nine matches.
Darwin Nunez – 1% Ownership
Liverpool are one of two sides who have won all three of their Champions League matches. The Reds aren’t just impressing though, they are also sustaining fantastic underlying attacking data against the better sides – racking up 2+ expected goals (XG) against both Milan and Leipzig.
The above is relevant because Liverpool face a big clash against Leverkusen this week. The German side have impressed but domestically have averaged two goals conceded per match. Leading the Liverpool attack this week is Darwin Nunez (€7.5m) who should continue to start due to teammate Diogo Jota’s injury. Nunez goes into his meeting with Leverkusen off the back of scoring against Leipzig in Matchday 3.
Arne Engels – 0% Ownership
Celtic are a tough one to predict. The Scottish champions have been relentless domestically – winning nine of their 10 matches and averaging a huge 2.9 goals scored per game. But that doesn’t necessarily always translate in their Champions League performances.
What was very promising though was their Matchday 1 display in which they beat Slovan Bratislava 5-1. This week they play at home again, but against tougher opposition. Leipzig may pose a challenge, but the German side have shipped five goals already in Europe this season. To target them we could look to the cheap Arne Engels (€5.7m). Engels has multiple routes to points in any give game as he takes corners, free kicks and penalties. The Belgian midfielder has already proven he can be explosive, as evident from his goal and assist in the opening round.
Igor Paixão – 0% Ownership
Feyenoord have really impressed recently. Since being edged by Leverkusen in Matchday 1 the Dutch side have played two, won two and scored six goals in the Champions League. What’s even more appealing about them is that they face Salzburg next up.
Salzburg have lost all three of their European matches whilst also shipping at least two goals in each of them. To target their poor defence midfielder Igor Paixão (€6.5m) stands out. The Brazilian mustered up two assists against Benfica recently and with five returns in his previous six matches in all compeititons, he goes into the next round in top form.
