FPL Gameweek 9 Best Differentials
The new round Premier League football is approaching so we take a look at the FPL Gameweek 9 best differentials. Using the Fantasy Football Scout members area we utilise the fixture ticker and underlying stats to pick out some of the best players with low ownership.
Our FPL Gameweek 9 best differentials could give you a much needed boost to start the new season. Differentials are players who have low ownership. If those players are successful then it could both rank and mini-league position.
Yoane Wissa – 2.1% Ownership
Brentford are evidently inconsistent when it comes to results. However, the Bees are also regular goal scorers – having netted in every game bar one this season. They take that scoring form into a meeting with Ipswich next up who currently rank the worst in the league for big chances conceded.
The Brentford frontline has bags of potential this week and leading it we could see Yoane Wissa (£5.9m). Wissa failed to start his sides previous four matches due to injury. Prior to that injury however he was in top form – banking a huge 28 points in just four games.
Phil Foden – 6.5% Ownership
Manchester City have unsurprisingly had another great start to the season. The 2023/24 Champions don’t just sit near the top of the table but they also rank amongst the top two teams for underlying attacking metrics including goals scored, total shots on goal and total shots on target.
We could well see a goal fest from Pep Guardiola’s men this week as they come up against a woeful Southampton side. Other than Erling Haaland, another way to invest in their attack this week could be Phil Foden (£9.2m). After producing a goal and assist in the Champions League and an assist in his most recent league game Foden seems to recapturing the top form he displayed last season.
Georginio Rutter – 0.4% Ownership
Wolves seem to be in a bit of trouble after losing all but one of their matches this season. The fixtures have been tough and their defence has taken a real beating during their first eight games – shipping between 2-6 goals in all but one.
The above is relevant because Brighton go into their match against Wolves off the back of scoring 2-3 goals in three of their last four matches. One increasingly encouraging option is midfielder Georginio Rutter (£5.5m). Starting the last five matches for his side Rutter is becoming a regular starter for the Seagulls. That will likely continue after producing two goals and two assists in his last three games.
Raul Jimenez – 7.9% Ownership
Another side who seem to be battling inconsistency is Fulham. The Cottagers have drawn two, lost two and won two of their last six league matches. Since opening day however, they have scored in every single one of their matches so far.
Everton lay ahead which could be a good opportunity to extend that run and Raul Jimenez (£5.7m) appears to be their main man. The Mexican striker is in relentless form currently – having banked either a goal or an assist in his last five consecutive matches.
Dejan Kulusevski – 2.4% Ownership
Ranking second best for goals scored, second best for total attempts on goal, first for total shots in the box and second best for total shots on target, Tottenham have been in fantastic attacking form this season. They go into their next match against a poor Crystal Palace side off the back of scoring four goal against West Ham.
There are plenty of routes into the Spurs attack, but one player who continues to go under the radar is Dejan Kulusevski (£6.2m). The Swede had a slow start to the new season but with 21 points in his last three matches he seems to be coming into an exciting run of form.
