Serie A Fantasy Round 8 Top Picks

The new season continues so we reveal the Serie A Fantasy Round 8 top picks. Regular contributor and Serie A expert @FPL_Crisk comes in to pick out two of the best players in each position for the new round.

It isn’t long before the new Gameweek commences. So, knowing which players have the most potential could be hugely beneficial. Getting off to a good start in every fantasy game is important for both rank and mini-league position.

Goalkeepers – Vanja Milinkovic-Savic (€6.2m – 20.3%)

With players like Vasquez, Svilar and Sommer having tough fixtures, this could be a solid week for Milinkovic-Savic owners. Cagliari’s attacking output is disappointing to say the least, so it should be a great week for both clean sheets and saves points.

David De Gea (€4.8m – 20.1%)

After his POTM performance against AC Milan coronated by two penalty saves, it would be a disservice on my part not to mention David De Gea. The former Manchester United goalie has now nailed the starting spot for Fiorentina, who will travel to Lecce to face the worst team in the league for goals scored this season.

Defenders – Andrea Cambiaso (€5.6m – 34.4%)

The most informed will know that both Juventus’s right wingers are unavailable for their home fixture against Lazio. Conceicao is suspended while Nico Gonzalez is injured. This means Cambiaso has a good chance to play more advanced than usual and get some attacking returns. He has already warmed up in that sense after scoring during the international break for Italy.

Giovanni Di Lorenzo (€7.0m – 37.5%)

Speaking of the Italian national team, Di Lorenzo netted a brace against Israel in his latest match. The Napoli fullback/RCB is the joint top scorer in the game at the moment. Napoli’s fixtures get much tougher soon, so I would maximise the points from their defence now as they face defensive teams like Empoli.

Midfielders – Ademola Lookman (€9.2m – 36.4%)

If he didn’t miss out on the first three Rounds due to transfer rumours, he would most likely be amongst the top three midfielders in the game for points (he’s averaged 8.5 pts per game). I would monitor for team news as the Nigerian national team were left stranded in a Lybian Airport for several hours yesterday.

Gabriel Strefezza (€5.4m – 3.8%)

Despite losing to top of the table Napoli, Como have been on a roll recently, getting six of their eight points in total in the last three games. Strefezza, despite scoring less goals than striker Patrick Cutrone, has a similar amount of points and is on most set pieces. Nico Paz is another one to watch out for as his performances have attracted the interest of many top clubs.

Forwards – Mateo Retegui (€6.4m – 50.3%)

If I hadn’t owned one between Retegui and Thuram last week, I would have probably abandoned the game. Jokes aside, Retegui has been pretty consistent, scoring for both Atalanta and the Italian national team. For his price, he is for sure a must have.

Albert Gudmundsson (€8.2m – 9.4%)

I didn’t expect the Icelandic forward to be as highly owned as he is at this point already. Either way he’s starting to become a good option overall: three goals in three games, two of which from penalties. Kean took the most recent spot kick, but after missing it I’m pretty sure he will not steal any more points from Gudmundsson.
