Goalkeepers – Glenn Morris (Gillingham)

Morris is my first top pick, and although Gillingham have recently been underwhelming at home recently, they play against Accrington (23rd in League Two). So, it’s a good opportunity to return to their early season form and add another clean sheet to the six they banked in just 10 games so far.

Owen Goodman (AFC Wimbledon)

Goodman has been crucial for Wimbledon, who, although have only played seven games, which is the least in League Two, have kept four clean sheets in the last five games. Carlisle (22nd in League Two) at home lays ahead this week, a side who haven’t scored in their last two games. So, this should be a good chance for Wimbledon to continue that defensive form.

Defenders – Theo Vassell (Barrow)

Vassell has been a consistent defender at the back in Barrow’s amazing start to the season, and playing Accrington (23rd in League Two) next is a perfect chance for Vassell to continue this good start with another clean sheet. He also managed a massive 14 clearances last week, which is another selling point in picking Vassell.

Anthony O’Connor – (Harrogate Town)

O’Connor was a name mentioned a lot at the start of the season. Although he had a few difficult games recently, he was back to his best last week with an 11-point haul. He has also produced over 100 clearances (102), which is an average of 10.2 a game. With Newport at home, who have had an inconsistent start to the season, I think this week O’Connor could be back to his best again.

Midfielders – Kwame Poku (Peterborough United)

Poku will be involved in only one of the two League One games being played this week and will be one of the few assets from that league I think is worth considering. After picking up 13 points last week, which was his third double-digit haul of the season, he plays Rotherham, who have had a disappointing start to the season. Poku will be hoping to continue his form from last week.

Eton Archer (Cheltenham Town)

Archer isn’t a player many people would have never heard of, but don’t put that off picking him. Last week Archer achieved 15 points, which was immediately after returning in the previous round. After becoming a regulator starter in Gameweek 6, he has managed three 8+ pointers in five games. With Swindon (21st in League Two) this week, he could secure another one.

Ryan Bowman (Cheltenham Town)

Bowman, much like his teammate mentioned earlier in the article, hasn’t started every game this season, but since starting again, he has scored in his last two games. In his current form and facing Swindon (21st in League Two) next, there’s a good chance he will continue his recent run and return once again.

Andy Cook – (Bradford City)

Cook has been one of the most consistent goal scorers we’ve ever seen in the EFL, and with five goals already this season, he will be wanting to add another one against Tranmere (17th in League Two). In an almost only League Two gameweek, Cook has to feature as a top pick.

Teams to Target

AFC Wimbledon – Wimbledon may only be currently mid-table, but that’s due to their lack of games played. If they were to win the three games in hand they have on most teams, they would be top. So, against Carlisle, who are 22nd in League Two, and with Wimbledon being at home, where they have won every game in all competitions this season, we should see more success this week.

Bradford City – Bradford have had a reasonably good start. I also want to select a home and an away team in these top picks. I see Bradford as the most likely team to win away. Bradford play a Tranmere side who haven’t won in their last five games. For that reason Bradford could have huge potential this week.
