Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 6 Top Picks

Last modified date

The new season of German League football continues so we take a look at the Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 6 top picks. Bundesliga Fantasy expert and regular contributor @FPLGunnersaurus reveals three of the best defenders, midfielders and forwards for the new round.

The Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 6 top picks can be extremely useful for managers. With lots of changes to the game this season it could be difficult to adjust for managers. But the following top picks can help you bring clarity to some of the decisions you have to make ahead of the deadline.

Note: This has been written on Wednesday, midway through an action packed week of European football. Please also remember we have an unlimited transfers period after this matchday once again due to another international break.

Defenders – Premium – Maximilian Mittelstädt (17m / 5% TSB / VFB)

The German international left-back added another assist on MD5 making it three assists across his last two league games (plus one in midweek UCL action). Those two games have seen him score some mammoth fantasy hauls of 380pts and 415pts. Next up for his Stuttgart side is a game hosting Hoffenheim who are in absolute freefall after their incredible collapse against Bremen on MD5.

Mid-price – Mitchell Weiser (13m / 12% / SVW)

A slightly pricey mid-priced option given a lack of real alternatives elsewhere on MD6. Despite conceding three goals in their comeback win over Hoffenheim Weiser still returned 214pts with three goal attempts on top of an assist to complete Stage’s hat-trick. Die Werderaner host Freiburg on MD6 who suffered a surprise 3-0 defeat to new Bundesliga new boys St. Pauli on MD5.

Budget – Kilian Fischer (6m / 2% TSB / WOB)

Budget defenders with good fixtures are hard to come by but we have one this matchday with Fischer’s Wolfsburg away to a winless Bochum side. For what is essentially a 6m enabler you shouldn’t expect much and with Fischer averaging 140pts per game (23.3pts per 1m spent) you know exactly what you’re paying for.

Midfielders – Premium – Xavi Simons (17m / 17% TSB / RBL)

Both a goal and an assist on MD5 saw Xavi pick up a season high score of 392pts, much to the delight of those fantasy managers who trusted him with the star midfielder role. Despite midweek UCL football Leipzig already can’t afford to drop points when they travel to Heidenheim on MD6 which should ensure another start for Xavi. Xavi makes for a great star midfield candidate on MD6 amongst others…

Mid-price – Enzo Millot (11m / 13% TSB / VFB)

And those other candidates include 22 year old Frenchman Millot who despite being roped off at 59 minutes and missing a penalty on MD5 still returned 246pts. He did score following up his own penalty miss which now makes it three goals and two assists so far for him in the league. Against a woeful Hoffenheim side it could be a haul for what is looking like this season’s early breakout star.

Budget – Dani de Wit (7m / 0% TSB / BOC)

Despite the earlier Wolfsburg pick the game between Die Unabsteigbaren and Die Wölfe is really a game that could go either way. Dutchman de Wit occupied a more attacking role on MD5 with Daschner out and it saw him score a goal in a 4-2 defeat at Dortmund – returning 245 fantasy points. This was where I expected him to play as the Stöger replacement and if he keeps his place there he could do well once more.

Forwards – Premium – Deniz Undav (13m / 40% TSB / VFB)

Ringing up the trio of Stuttgart picks is a 40% owned Undav who looks to be back in peak form. Undav scored in five consecutive games for both club and country prior to his midweek UCL blank. With 4/10 managers owning him Undav could be a rank killer unless owned and is someone I am desperately trying to fit into my starting XI somehow.

Mid-price – Omar Marmoush (11m / 21% TSB / SGE)

Marmoush is now the Bundesliga’s leading marksmen with a MD5 brace making it six goals for the current season. The Egyptian forward also supplied a brace of assists in what was a 529pts haul away at Kiel. Die Adler host Bayern Munich on MD6 who in the same tie last year were humbled in a 5-1 win. That was a very different Bayern side though back then but I could see Marmoush getting on the scoresheet again here.

Budget – Elias Saad (5m / 0% TSB / STP)

After back-to-back starts and a brace of goals (plus an assist) in St. Pauli’s 3-0 away triumph over Freiburg we now have another budget striker available to us in the form of Tunisian wide-forward Saad. St. Pauli will look for their first home win on MD6 when they host a Mainz 05 side who have lost two of their last three, and barely scraped past Augsburg in that barnstormer on MD4.
