FPL Experts Ahead of Gameweek 6

Last modified date

We caught up with some FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 6. The experts included cover a range of different topics from chips and the best players to player and team form and more as we head into the new round.

Catching up with the FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 6 could be both fun and insightful. The experts cover some of the key topics ahead of the new round which could help bring clarity to some of the decisions we have to make in our own teams.

@FPLGOAT7

It was another busy week of FPL. FPL Goat once again highlighted a huge moment as Chelsea dismantled fellow London club 3-0. Amongst the goals was Cole Palmer (£10.6m) who picked up eight points for finding the net.

Another player who seems to be getting some major traction recently is striker Nicolas Jackson (£7.7m). Jackson started the season well – scoring two goals and one assist in his first three matches. He followed that up with a huge 16-point return in Gameweek 5. But, will that be enough? He faces Brighton, Nottingham Forest and Liverpool in his next three which could be tough.

Gameweek 5 was also a massive week for Aston Villa assets. Although conceding early in their match against Wolves Unai Emery’s men bounced back and won the game 3-1.

The clean sheet meant five matches on the bounce without one which was frustrating for Ezri Konsa (£4.5m) managers. However, nobody expected the Englishman to score which helped him and his owners to a nine-point haul.

Also amongst the returns again was of course striker Ollie Watkins (£9m), he picked up six points for his goal. But the biggest shock of the game involved Morgan Rogers (£5.2m). Rogers picked up his first two returns of the season with two assists, collecting nine points for his efforts.

Those wildcarding this week have a big decision to make as they come up against newly promoted Ipswich next up.

Many managers within the community have decided to activate their Wildcard chip ahead of Gameweek 6. A large proportion of those same managers are also deciding whether to keep Mohamed Salah (£12.8m) in their side.

Some of the above comes from having to fit in Manchester City striker Erling Haaland (£15.3m) and some from the fact he’s managed just one assist in his last two matches. However, as FPL Banger mentions, he faces a meeting against Wolves next up who have have lost four of their five matches and shipped 14 goals in the meantime.

Gameweek 5 also saw the rise of an FPL asset. Brentford capitulated in their Gameweek 5 clash with Tottenham, that came after they had taken the lead in just 23 seconds. Involved in the record breaking goals was Bryan Mbeumo (£7.2m).

Mbeumo’ s goals meant four scored in his first five matches – making him the joint third highest goal scorer in the league so far. With fixtures against West Ham, Wolves, Ipswich, Fulham, Bournemouth, Everton and Leicester in his next eight games, he could well become a shoo-in for those with and without the Wildcard.
