Notes

  • With multiple teams on a bye and several players absent due to international duty, Round 25 is likely to be tricky to navigate!
  • LAFC are one of the teams most affected by international callups, particularly their offense. This prompted the selection of Steve Clark on the front end of my ‘keeperoo.
  • The Vancouver-Dallas game is your only opportunity to run a fallback goalie. And, with Vancouver missing Gauld, Picault and White, I’m currently siding with the FC Dallas defence and Jimmy Maurer as my fallback.
  • In defence, I’ve paired Clark and Maurer with Micael and the offensively minded Ruan, respectively.
  • My other two defenders are Rudy Camacho, who, like Micael, racks up decent passing bonus points, and John Tolkin. I’m not sure the New York Red Bulls keep a clean sheet against Sporting Kansas City. But Tolkin does at least have a share of set pieces and the potential for offensive returns in his favour.
  • Carles Gil, Marcel Hartel and Héctor Herrera were among the first names in my team this week, with Herrera my likely captain this week given his bonus point potential alone.
  • The other two midfield spots are where you can differentiate this week. As mentioned, I’m not sure the Red Bulls keep Peter Vermes’ men out, which is why I’ve gone for Erik Thommy in one of those spots.
  • Sebastian Lletget is my final midfield selection as things stand. While I’m not completely sold on the pick, he’s scored well in the last two rounds and provides additional roster flexibility should by entire bench hit.
  • Upfront, Diego Rossi is another locked-in pick and also a viable captaincy option. Although, I do worry slightly about the Columbus offense without some of their supporting cast, as evidenced by their Round 24 encounter with Philadelphia.
  • Elsewhere, Christian Benteke is worth a punt against a struggling Chicago team. DC United have looked equally porous defensively though, which is why I’ve also gone with Hugo Cuypers.

Notes

  • We have tonnes of byes and the international break playing havoc so there is no telling on some of these matchups.
  • LAFC have Houstan away so Herrera at home is my captain right now.
  • Vancouver and Dallas are in the late matchup so I’m using those as holds for possible scrubs.
  • Gil and Musa both look good for points as well.
  • NYRB are going to need the defence to get forward.
  • Dajome is a wildcard pick for DC.

Notes

  • MID: Carles Gil (NER; 14.4m); Gil has averaged seven points per game this season and picked up one goal and three assists in his last six matches. He is high in key passes so far this season in MLS. Gil is nailed in my team this week vs St. Louis City SC.
  • MID: Marcel Hartel (STL; 10.3m); In his St. Louis debut, Marcel Hartel recorded three assists versus Portland, making an outstanding debut and should be a good option this week.
  • FWD: Diego Rossi (CLB 10.9m) Diego Rossi comes with big potential this round with one goal and an assist last gw, he is surely worthy of roster consideration this week.
