FPL Gameweek 2 Best Wildcard Team
The second round of Fantasy Premier League is approaching so we take a look at the FPL Gameweek 2 best wildcard team. To do this we use the Fantasy Football Scout members area and Plan FPL and their fantastic tools.
Checking out our best Wildcard team each week can be extremely helpful. The Wildcard is one of several chips provided by the game. Wildcard users can make unlimited and permanent changes to their team before the deadline ahead.

Below we can see the Fantasy Football Scout Fixture Ticker. We can also see the teams at the top have the easiest fixtures and the teams at the bottom have the toughest fixtures for the next six Gameweeks.
Who has the best fixtures?
Chelsea, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Fulham, Ipswich and Southampton all rank amongst the top six teams with the easiest fixtures.
Who has the worst fixtures?
Brentford, Tottenham, Brighton, Arsenal, Leicester and Newcastle all rank amongst the bottom six teams with the toughest fixtures.
Best Wildcard Team
Goalkeepers
Rotating goalkeepers isn’t for everyone but Brentford’s and Chelsea’s schedule rotates exceptionally well around each other. With that in mind we could switch Chelsea’s Robert Sanchez (£4.5m) and Brentford’s Mark Flekken (£4.5m) in an out of the starting XI.
Defenders
Fulham have some lovely fixtures ahead – facing two promoted sides in their next two matches. This could be a great opportunity for full-back Antonee Robinson (£4.5m) who picked up more attacking returns than any of his teammates last campaign.
Liverpool started the season well but they also sit second on the fixture ticker above. The opportunity for more clean sheets is there and with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s (£7m) attacking potential he could become a shoo-in.
Manchester City maintained some of the best underlying data in the league last season so backing them defensively could be a good move. Josko Gvardiol (£6m) advances into some very promising attacking positions and picked up four goals in his final five games of the 23/24 campaign.
After Arsenal next Aston Villa have a great schedule which makes investing very appealing. One player who could be great value for money is Ezri Konsa (£4.5m). Konsa offers little going forward but has plenty of opportunities for clean sheets ahead.
Southampton’s Taylor Harwood-Bellis (£4m) enables money elsewhere within the squad. He also has a fair schedule if needed off the bench which is unlikely.
Midfielders
Having Chelsea coverage could be vital as they sit top of the fixture ticker. It may be easy to feel put off by their Gameweek 1 performance but Manchester City can limit any side. One of the cheapest routes into the Chelsea attack moving forward is Christopher Nkunku (£6.5m) who scored three goals during pre-season.
The Liverpool fixtures ahead are difficult to ignore from an investment perspective. Diogo Jota (£7.5m) led the lethal Liverpool frontline in Gameweek 1 and after scoring he will likely continue that role.
Manchester City play Ipswich next which holds massive appeal alone but their fixtures after that are also very good. Other than the obvious another asset who could benefit from the inevitable Manchester City goals could be Phil Foden (£9.5m) who featured for 45+ minutes in Gameweek 1.
Eberechi Eze (£7m) was denied a big return in Gameweek 1 due to poor officiating which was also confirmed after the game. The Crystal Palace penalty taker bagged five goals and two assists in his final six games of the 23/24 campaign showing how effective he can be.
Morgan Rogers (£5m) showed promise in his first match against West Ham. The Aston Villa midfielder played 90 minutes in Gameweek 1 which could be a sign of things to come in terms of gametime. Rogers comes in extremely cheap and has lovely fixtures after Arsenal.
Forwards
Erling Haaland (£15m) of course leads the relentless Manchester City frontline and with Ipswich next up he is also the standout captaincy option. Captaincy is vital in FPL and a role that Haaland could fulfil successfully over the next several Gameweeks.
Newcastle still have brilliant fixtures ahead which Alexander Isak (£8.5m) could take advantage of. The penalty taker remains one of the best forward options in the game after a successful 23/24 campaign, a successful pre-season and an assist in Gameweek 1.
As mentioned above Fulham could have great potential when considering their fixtures ahead. Leading their frontline is Rodrigo Muniz (£6m) who comes in with a cheap price-tag.
