Teams with the Best Fixtures in Gameweek 2

Last modified date

We take a look at the teams with the best fixtures in Gameweek 2. Using the Fantasy Football Scout members area we can access to the fixture ticker. With that we adjust the schedule to see which teams have the easiest and toughest in any given Gameweek.

Fixture difficulty plays a huge part in how FPL managers navigate the schedule. Knowing which teams have the best fixtures in Gameweek 2 can help to determine which teams we invest in and which players we choose in our team.

Gameweek 2 Fixtures

Below we can see the Fantasy Football Scout Fixture Ticker. The teams at the top have the easiest fixtures whilst the teams at the bottom have the toughest fixtures.

Who tops the ticker?

Nottingham Forest sit at the top of the Fantasy Football Scout Fixture Ticker for Gameweek 2. After finishing 17th last season and six points from the relegation zone Nottingham Forest will be hoping to pick up three points in a game they are expected to win.

Southampton away from home lay ahead for Nottingham Forest next up. The Saints failed to convince in their promotion winning season – conceding some concerning defensive data and falling short of the automatic promotion spots.

Who else makes the top three?

Fulham sit second on the ticker this week. The Cottagers were inconsistent for large parts of last season but still proved effective defensively and offensively at times. They have a great opportunity this week as they clash with Leicester at home.

Also joining the top three is Manchester City who maintained some of the best underlying data in both defence and attack last campaign. They come up against Ipswich who gained promotion from the Championship last season even after conceding at least two goals in 16 of their league matches.

Other teams with good fixtures

Tottenham face off with Everton at home this week which could be a good proposition for potential investors. Ange Postecoglu’s playing style makes the Tottenham frontline even more appealing than it once was. Everton also scored the second least goals in the league last season.

New manager Oliver Glasner has a good opportunity at home this week against West Ham. Crystal Palace seriously impressed towards the latter stages of last season whilst West Ham were extremely inconsistent, more so defensively.

Liverpool are another side who could have potential in their fixture. The Reds have a meeting with Brentford next up who failed to maintain good defensive or offensive metrics last campaign. Liverpool on the other hand were the opposite and produced some of the best attacking data in the league.

Which teams should we avoid?

Amongst the bottom three ranked sides on the fixture ticker is Aston Villa. Although impressive last season after finishing fourth and claiming a Champions League spot they face Arsenal at home. As well as finishing second the Gooners kept the most clean sheets and maintained excellent attacking metrics.

As highlighted above Ipswich clash with Premier League giants Manchester City. As well as facing the current champions their task is made even more difficult by the fact they play away from home. With that in mind, avoiding Ipswich completely in terms of FPL investment could be wise.

Another side we have already touched upon is Brentford. Owning any of their assets against a statistically strong Liverpool side could be worth avoiding. The Bees also play away from home which lessens the potential of their assets even more.
