Serie A Fantasy: Rules and How to Play

A new game has started to catch the attention of new managers within the community. We take a look at the Serie A Fantasy rules and how to play, covering the prizes, how to earn points, how to build your squads and everything else you will need to know to play the game.

Managers can now follow one of the most competitive leagues in Europe and earn points for selecting some of their favourite Serie A players. Because of this, knowing the Serie A Fantasy rules and how to play is absolutely essential to playing the game.

Signing In/Signing Up

To access the screen above you will need to head over to Serie A Fantasy. Once there you can either sign in if you have an account or sign up if you haven’t.

Once you have clicked sign up just scroll down and fill in your personal details. This should only take a couple of minutes.

Building your team

Managers can pick players from all 20 Serie A clubs to build their squad.

Filters such as football club, position on the pitch, sorting by price, points, or any other player statistics will also assist with that.

Managers will have €100m to put together their squad for the start of season.

You can finalise your teams by picking a suitable team name, formation, and assigning a vice captain and captain.

Teams and formations

Teams should consist of 15 players, broken down into four positions as follows:

  • Three forwards
  • Five midfielders
  • Five defenders
  • Two goalkeepers

The team should have 11 starting players at all times, and four substitutes. Hence possible formations include:

  • 3-4-3
  • 3-5-2
  • 4-3-3
  • 4-4-2
  • 4-5-1
  • 5-3-2
  • 5-4-1

Your team should also have a captain assigned, who will then earn double the number of points for that round.

As well as the above you should also have a vice-captain assigned, who will earn double the number of points for that round if the captain has not featured yet in the round.

Only two players from each club can be selected.

Transfers and Substitutions

Before the deadline of each round, your team can be prepared using transfers or substitutions, and you also have the option to change the captain and vice-captain of your team.

Transfer rules

You will receive one free transfer before the deadline of each round:

  • If extra transfer(s) are completed on top of free transfer(s), then each additional transfer will deduct five points (otherwise known as a hit) from the round score after all the matches in the round are completed.
  • If your free transfer is not used, then it will be carried over to the next round. The maximum number of accumulated transfers is four.

After the deadline of each round, the team is locked and no more player changes are allowed during that round.

Unlimited Transfers

Before their first deadline in the game, users are entitled to make unlimited transfers. No points will be deducted for these transfers.

During the season, Wildcard option will allow users to make unlimited transfers free of charge. Managers can only use one wildcard per season.

Automatic substitutions

  • Substitutions occur based on the order of priority on the bench.
  • The player on the bench will substitute for the player on the pitch who has not featured in a match, provided that the bench player played in that match.

How to earn points

Below is a breakdown of how players can earn points for your team.

Roundly Prizes

If you finish top of the pile overall in any of the 38 Rounds then you will win your favourite Serie A Club jersey.

Quad Round Prizes

A Quad Round consists of four rounds combined. If you win Rounds 1-4, 4-8, 8-12 etc then you will win an Apple Watch. Second place earns a set of Airpods third generation and third place will earn you your favourite Serie A Club jersey.

Overall Season Rank

If at the end of the season you finish 1st overall then you will win a MacBook Air Laptop. Finishing 2nd will earn you a PlayStation 5 Console and finishing third will get you an iPad 10th generation.
