- The New York Red Bulls (38%) and Seattle (39%) have the best clean sheet odds this week. This makes Ryan Meara and Stefan Frei easy pickups on the front and back ends, respectively, of my ‘keeperoo.
- In defence, I have doubled down on my Red Bulls/Seattle investment by pairing Meara and Frei with John Tolkin and Jackson Ragen, respectively. Aaron Long’s inclusion follows similar thinking, with LAFC ranked third best for clean sheet odds, Brooks Lennon is on the bubble for me. Yes, he put up decent bonus points against St Louis City in Round 18, but it was only the third time since Round 10 that he’s scored more than four points and Atlanta have looked poor defensively for most of the season.
- I’m not super confident on Thiago Martins either, but feel he’s a relatively low-risk, high-reward punt given the timing of NYCFC’s game this week.
- Lucho Acosta, Evander and Ryan Gauld will likely be the ‘chalk’ midfield picks this week given their form and/or fixtures.
- The other two midfield spots are where you can differentiate this week. I’ve opted for Cristian Espinoza due to the typically high-scoring nature of the California Clásico and Santi Rodríguez given his early fixture against an obliging Orlando defence. However, I can also see Mateusz Bogusz and the returning Lewis Morgan (assuming he plays immediately after Scotland’s EURO 2024 elimination) being popular choices given their matchups.
- Upfront, Denis Bouanga is an easy pick, both for selection and captaincy.
- Cucho Hernández also makes my team after 46 points in three gameweeks, while I’m expecting Gabriel Pec – who has five goals and six assists since Round 9 – to spearhead LA Galaxy’s threat in the California Clásico.

- I won’t be able to check scores or line-ups on Saturday, so I am tripling up on Friday’s nights game with Freese Martin and Santi.
- With who DC are missing, I think that NYRB has the best CS chance this weekend, which is why I am falling back on Meara and Tolkin. If Morgan is back from the Euros in time, I would consider playing him as well.
- Lennon has a solid chance for some attacking upside against Toronto, but I am not expecting a CS there. Ragen is my CS fallback if all else fails.
- Cali Classico is always a fun matchup for goals, so I have both Espinoza and Pec. If Puig has a chance to be healthy for the game he is worth a shout too, as well as maybe Paintsil and Hernan Lopez.
- Both Evander and Gauld have great home matchups and could score big. I’d seriously consider captaining Gauld if I had some ground to make up.
- Lucho is a must own, even if he is away form home, same with Cucho. Their ceiling is just too high to miss out on against these two sides.
- My armband is currently on Bouanga. Colorado are much stronger than people give them credit for, but Bouanga at home is a force of nature.

Notes
- I hit a healthy 222 points last week and we are back to a single game round with RSL on bye this week.
- NYRB look good at home on defence this week so I have two there.
- Charlotte are hot and on the road again versus Houston so I only have Kahlina this week.
- I think NYC with the early home match against an inconsistent Orlando team and some possible scrub action if NYC hit.
- Acosta is on fire but I also like LAFC at home and Evander possibly as captain.

Notes
- MID: Luciano Acosta (CIN; 16.5m); Luciano Acosta continued his run of MVP form in FC Cincinnati’s win over Philadelphia last gw with two goals and one assist. The crafty midfielder has six double-digit fantasy points in last eight games averaging 9.74 pts per game. I’m expecting another big showing in Round 19.
- MID: Evander (POR:14.2 M); Evander is high for shots in the last couple of games and has a decent matchup this week. He is a given in my line-up after 22 points In last week’s dgw with one goal and two assists.
- FWD: Denis Bouanga (LAFC:15.9m): Denis Bouanga has found the net in five one his last five games, including a brace in Round 17’s triumph at Orlando City SC not so long ago. Look for Bouanga to keep it rolling against Colorado Rapids this weekend.
