Who had the most double-digit FPL hauls in 2023/24?

Individual players racked up a total of 482 double-digit scores in the recently-finished 2023/24 FPL season.

It was a year that broke the record for most Premier League goals but also fewest clean sheets, making it initially hard to determine if this was a bigger or smaller amount than usual.

Yet the Members Area statistics at Fantasy Football Scout show us that there were 448 in 2022/23 and 472 in 2021/22.

double-digit FPL 2023/24

The highest Gameweek score of 29 points belongs to Jean-Philippe Mateta, ahead of Josko Gvardiol’s 27 and a couple of other 26 totals. Furthermore, a player grabbed 20+ points on 17 occasions.

Cole Palmer (10 hauls)

Unsurprisingly, the number one name for points was also in first place for double-digit hauls. The sole player to reach 10 of them, he got the biggest score for a single match when his four goals versus Everton bagged 26 points.

It concluded an electric five-game run whereby the Chelsea midfielder delivered 10 goals and 79 points, including a hat-trick against Man United. Not bad for someone who didn’t start a match until Gameweek 7.

Bukayo Saka (9 hauls)

Fellow England international Saka had his best-ever FPL season in 2023/24. Nobody throughout the division amassed more penalty area touches (290) and Arsenal’s penalty-taker ranked fourth for chances created (91).

His peak came with four double-digit outings out of a possible five between Gameweek 22 and 26, netting seven times.

Martin Odegaard (9 hauls)

Sticking with the Gunners, it may initially seem surprising to see Odegaard on so many. He’s the definition of ‘feast or famine’ as, from 35 matches, he hauled on nine occasions and blanked in 22 others. Very few scores of between four and nine points.

At a similar time to Saka’s form, Odegaard secured a trio of double-digits from four games. He ends with the most expected assists (xA, 11.17) and third-highest chances created (102).

A special mention should also go to Kai Havertz, as he recorded six of these large scores in the final 14 matches. The German produced the second-most points between Gameweeks 25 and 38.

Mohamed Salah (9 hauls)

Elsewhere, it may have been Salah’s lowest final points tally in his seven Liverpool years but injuries ensured it saw his fewest minutes.

Four double-digits within five early matches helped the Egyptian King be far in front for points by Gameweek 20, until AFCON and a couple of muscle issues.

Still, Salah has the honour of creating the most big chances (22) and being second for attempts (114), shots on target (54) and expected goal involvement (xGI, 28.71).

Phil Foden (8 hauls)

At Manchester City, we eventually witnessed Foden play a hugely influential role in their title win. Only Palmer ended with more FPL points, as the 23-year-old racked up six double-digit scores in his final 14 appearances. This was aided by two hat-tricks and three braces.

In fact, he followed a 20 tally with an immediate 16.

Erling Haaland (8 hauls)

Meanwhile, Haaland bagged a couple of late hauls in his final four games, including 21 points at home to Wolves.

Golden Boot winner for a second successive season, fewer minutes meant he wasn’t able to match his 11 big scores of 2022/23. But he showcased his explosive abilities by also reaching 20 points against Fulham in Gameweek 4.

Rodri (8 hauls)

Hang on, isn’t Rodri supposed to be a defensive midfielder? Well, Foden and Haaland’s Man City team-mate ended with an impressive eight goals and 10 assists, ending as the 12th-best in his position.

An opening-day goal and assist brought in 13 points at Burnley, as six of his double-digits were a total of exactly 10.

Gvardiol should also get a mention – this defender recorded three hauls in his last seven outings. A superb effort.

Son Heung-min (8 hauls)

Finally, some Spurs acknowledgement. It took until Gameweek 4 for Son to get going but the hat-trick at Burnley started a run of eight goals and four double-digit tallies in seven matches.

He later added a couple of 17 scores versus Newcastle and Aston Villa.
