Serie A Fantasy Round 30 Expert Team Reveal
Here we bring in one of our regular contributors and seasoned managers to provide you with his Serie A Fantasy Round 30 expert team reveal. @FplRossoneri is back to reveal his team and share his plans around transfers and captaincy.
With Serie A Fantasy Round 30 on the horizon it could be hugely beneficial to catch up with our expert. His knowledge and decisions could be extremely enlightening to other fantasy managers. This same knowledge could help bring clarity to some of the choices we have to make in our own teams.
Introduction
Welcome back to my GW30 Team reveal for Serie A Fantasy. Here, I pen down my thoughts about the team, my transfers if any, and my captain for each upcoming GW.
Now, even though it happened a while back, let us look at my GW28 team first. I ended up with 75 points with a GW average of 52 points. It was a small red arrow that took me from 428th to 367th worldwide and still 3rd in Germany after GW29.
Unlike the previous GW, GW29 has some good fixtures with the likes of Bologna, Roma, Inter, and Genoa having relatively easier matches.
Round 30 Team Reveal
Goalkeeper
- Yann Sommer (€5.8m) – Sommer is back in goal after getting six points in Inter’s narrow 1-1 draw vs Napoli in GW29. He has been by far the most reliable GK in Serie A this season both in terms of security of starts and source of consistent points. He also currently sits atop the list of GKs for points with 11 double-digit hauls to boast in just 29 GWs. Inter have an easy fixture playing Empoli at home in GW30. So, I expect them to come away with a win and Sommer getting some good points. He is still only owned by 27.8% of managers. If you are still looking for a solid GK till the end of the season then Sommer is your guy. If he is confirmed injured as suspected during the International Break then I will play Turati in goal.
Defenders
- Gleison Bremer (€5.8m) – My first defender in GW30 will be Bremer from Juventus. He still sits at the top of the defenders list with the most points. Juventus still have some amazing fixtures coming up and Bremer could bring in a lot of points during this period. As mentioned before, Juventus will look to try and get a clean sheet yet again after getting their first in four games vs Genoa in GW29. GW30 poses a bigger threat in Lazio but I do expect Juventus to come up with the win.
- Theo Hernandez (€7m) – One of my favourite players to watch in Serie A is Theo for the explosiveness he brings to the pitch from an LB position. He was my transfer in the GW29 given a great home fixture vs Empoli. As expected Milan ended up keeping a clean sheet after which he scored in GW29 vs Verona. At the moment Theo only has five goals and three assists this season. But he’s again coming into form from the last few seasons. Milan will play Fiorentina in GW30 and you can never count out Theo from getting a goal or assist.
- Stefan Posch (€4.6m) – My third defender will be Stefan Posch. He was one of the transfer-ins a few weeks given he had a double GW. Posch showed some of his form from last season grabbing an assist and keeping two CS in DGW24. Posch should be back fresh in the team after serving his suspension in GW29. Bologna have a great fixture in GW30 playing Salernitana. Because of this I expect a good points return from him in GW30.
- Raoul Bellanova (€5.2m) – And last but not least, my fourth defender this week will be Bellanova from Torino. Torino is a side known to be miserly in defence. That shows this season as only three teams have conceded lower goals than them in the league. Bellanova has been somewhat of a revelation for Torino this season getting one goal and five assists so far from the RB/RWB position. I will be expecting more of the same from Bellanova and Torino in GW30 when they face Monza at home.
Midfielders
- Lewis Ferguson (€5.8m) – My first midfielder this GW is going to be Lewis Ferguson from Bologna. He who was my transfer last week as CDK made way for the Bologna mid. Ferguson is another one of those players who has thrived under Thiago Motta’s tutelage this season. So far he has managed six goals and three assists so far. As mentioned earlier, Bologna have a great game in GW30 vs Salernitana and I am hoping that Ferguson has an instant impact on my Serie A Fantasy team.
- Albert Gudmundsson (€6m) – Gudmundsson has been one of the league’s revelations this year with 10 goals and three assists in just 29 games for Genoa. He has transitioned from a CAM/LW to an ST role this year and he has embraced the role. He sits second now in the most points list for midfielders in Serie A Fantasy. Because of that and his 6M price-tag, he is an absolute bargain. Genoa will be playing Frosinone at home in GW30. With that, the hope is Gudmundsson and company will get something out of the game in terms of Fantasy points.
- Morten Frendrup (€4.4m) – My cheap enabler in this GW will be Morten Frendrup. He now has racked up 142 TBIs in just 29 games. This is the highest in the league by 31 TBIs and gives owners that no matter what he can always get anywhere between 4-6 points every GW. He will be up against Frosinone in GW29. So, I expect a load of TBI points again at the very least. He is also one of the few MIDs who has played every single minute of the season.
Forwards
- Oliver Giroud (€9m) – My first playing forward for GW30 will be Oliver Giroud. He has been great for me since I transferred him in GW17. Giroud now has 12 goals and eight assists in 27 starts for Milan sharing the Talisman duties with Leao and Pulisic. He will want to get on the score sheet again in GW30 when Milan faces Fiorentina away from home. Giroud was again rested in the recent Verona game. So I can only assume Giroud’s xMins should be fairly secure now.
- Lautaro Martinez (€11.8m) – Martinez looks a level above everyone else at the moment in Serie A given he has 23 goals and two assists in just 29 games for Inter. He was rested in GW28 so I think xMins will be safe. Given that Inter have exited the Champions League, he should get minutes in every game till the end of the season. It’s very unlike Lautaro this season to have gone three GWs without being on the scoresheet. So, this upcoming Empoli fixture is perfect timing for him to get back to scoring.
- Victor Osimhen (€12.4m) – Last but by no means least, my third forward for this week is Osimhen who is fully back in form now with five goals and two assists in his last seven games. He does have a tougher fixture vs Atalanta who are very good at home. But, given the recent upturn in Napoli’s form, I do expect them to come away with a win in GW28. Osimhen can also be a viable captaincy option if you do not fancy Inter players. In just 16 starts this season Osimhen has 11 goals and three assists.
Captaincy
At the moment of writing this article it is currently on Lautaro Martinez for reasons I have mentioned above. Bremer is also in the running for captaincy as things stand.
As usual, I will reveal my final team before the deadline on X. Ensure you are following me on there @FPLRossoneriNick and Fantasy Football Community for all the latest updates in Serie A Fantasy.
