Planning for Gameweek 27 and 28

Here we dive into some planning for Gameweek 27 and 28. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout and it’s fixture ticker and underlying data we can look ahead to pick out some of the best teams and players to invest in.

Diving into some planning for Gameweek 27 and 28 could be hugely beneficial for FPL managers. Knowing which players and teams and to prioritise in terms of investment could be vital for gaining an edge over our opposition.

Gameweek 27 and 28 Fixtures

Double Gameweek 28

As we can see, both Bournemouth and Luton play twice in Gameweek 28. This explains why they sit at the top of the fixture ticker.

Who has got the best fixtures?

Bournemouth, Luton, Brighton, West Ham and Arsenal all rank in the top five teams with the best fixtures.

Who has got the worst fixtures?

Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Nottingham Forest and Wolves rank in the bottom five teams with the worst fixtures.

Best Teams and Players to Invest in

We start our planning for Gameweek 27 and 28 with the Cherries. Bournemouth rank top of the fixture ticker for the period ahead. This is largely due to the fact they have a double Gameweek in Gameweek 28. They also play all three promoted teams. This could mean plenty of potential for both their defensive and offensive assets.

The standout Bournemouth attacker is of course Dominic Solanke (£6.9m). Solanke has been excellent this season both in performances and output. Due to both of these factors and his form, he could be an absolute priority transfer in.

For those looking to back the Bournemouth defence Marcos Senesi (£4.5m) stands out. The centre-back has managed two goals and three assists already this campaign. Some could also opt for goalkeeper Neto (£4.6m) as problems continue amongst FPL managers in that position.

Luton also rank highly on the ticker. This is because they have three matches ahead – playing Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth. Some parts of the community may avoid their assets after their last double Gameweek performances. However, this time out their fixtures are much easier which gives their players more potential.

In attack, starting the last five matches on the bounce is penalty taker Carlton Morris (£5m). Morris picked up five returns in the same period mentioned.

Defensively the pick of the bunch is wing-back Alfie Doughty (£4.6m). Doughty ranks as one of the best defenders in the game when it comes to assists registered and assist potential. He also maintains some of the best distribution stats in his position.

More of the Best Teams and Players to Invest in

The rampant form of Arsenal and fixtures against Brentford and Sheffield United, make their assets some of the best for the period ahead. Popular assets like midfielder Bukayo Saka (£9.1m) and either one of the defenders William Saliba (£5.7m) and Gabriel (£5.2m) could become a must. But one asset who could go under the radar is midfielder Martin Odegaard (£8.4m). He managed to secure two double -digit hauls in his last two matches.

Other options for those who plan to use the Free Hit in Gameweek 29 also include Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross (£6.5m), Newcastle midfielder Anthony Gordon (£6.1m) and Wolves midfielder Hwang Hee-Chan (£5.6m).

For managers who want to avoid using the Free Hit in the large Blank Gameweek in 29 then Aston Villa are the best team to invest in. This isn’t just because they have been fantastic this season but also because they are guaranteed a match in Gameweek 29.

Most will go into the rounds ahead with striker Ollie Watkins (£8.8m). For those without one of the most effective assets in the game so far then he is a priority transfer in. For those with Watkins already then it could be time to move in for one of midfielders Douglas Luiz (£5.5m) or Leon Bailey (5.6m). The former is much safer in terms of minutes but the latter is more advanced positionally and more likely to return from open play. In defence the safest Aston Villa pick in terms of minutes could be centre-back Pau Torres (£4.6m).

More options for those choosing to avoid the Free Hit in Gameweek 29 include West Ham midfielders Jarrod Bowen (£7.7m) and Mohammed Kudus (£6.8m).

Tottenham are another side who have a fixture in Gameweek 29 so the likes of midfielder and penalty taker Son Heung-Min (£9.6m) could become popular again. Defender Pedro Porro (£5.7m) and midfielder Richarlison (£7.1m) will also be favoured.

Should we Use a Chip?

As mentioned in the article, there is a big Blank Gameweek in 29 so most will want to use the Free Hit then. Others that choose to dead-end their teams into Gameweek 29 may want to save theirs for the Blanks and Doubles ahead.

Those managers that decided against using the Triple Captain in Gameweek 25 could use it on Dominic Solanke.

Many will be saving the Bench Boost chip for bigger Doubles ahead.

Some could opt to use their Wildcard. The schedule could be tough to navigate for some managers without a Wildcard. However, some could decide to save their Wildcard. Those that plan to Free Hit in Gameweek 29 then saving the Wildcard for Gameweek 35+ could be a good play. Mangers that decide to avoid using the Free Hit in Gameweek 29 will be hoping to use the Wildcard in Gameweek 30 or 31.
