FPL: Best Budget Players for Gameweek 26
We pick out the best budget players for Gameweek 26. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout fixture ticker and underlying stats we provide some of the best cheap players, whether that be goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders or forwards for the round ahead.
Finding some of the best budget players for Gameweek 26 can be extremely useful to managers. Cheap players are vital when it comes to trying to fit in the more expensive options and can even be great standalone assets.
Fixtures
Below we can see the ticker in order of fixture difficulty. The teams at the top have the easiest fixtures and the teams at the bottom have the toughest fixtures.
Wolves
Wolves have taken many by surprise this season offensively. In fact after finishing in the bottom two teams for goals scored last season they currently rank eighth best in the league. Wolves are starting to become an attractive team to invest in recently and that appeal grows this week.
Sheffield United lay ahead for Wolves this week. The Blades rank as the worst defence and attack in the entire league so backing Wolves defenders and attackers this week could be a very easy decision.
For those looking into the Wolves defence then the most reliable defender in terms of gametime could be Max Kilman (£4.5m). Kilman also sits as the best amongst his backline for non-penalty expected goal involvement in the last six Gameweeks. Some could also back Ryan Ait-Nouri (£4.5m) who has been getting into some of the most advanced positions on the pitch recently.
The Wolves frontline has been deadly recently and one player who comes in at a great price that we should consider is Hwang Hee-Chan (£5.5m) who has scored 10 goals already this season. The slightly more pricey and fellow midfielder Pedro Neto (£5.7m) is also a great pick. Neto bagged 20 points two matches prior to his injury.
Aston Villa
Aston Villa are becoming a very popular team for FPL managers recently. This is partly due to the fact that they have a fixture in Gameweek 29. However, they also have very good fixtures overall and one of them includes a game against an inconsistent Nottingham Forest up next.
Whether managers are targeting them this week or their overall schedule, Aston Villa could have defensive potential this week and their safest option in terms of reliability is the nicely priced Pau Torres (£4.6m). The centre-back has also scored twice this season, showing some attacking potential.
For those looking at both the upcoming round and schedule ahead then it could be wise to bring in an Aston Villa midfielder. Douglas Luiz (£5.5m) is one of those options after picking up returns in 10 of his matches this campaign. Luiz is also on penalty duty which adds a lot of appeal. Some should even consider Leon Bailey (£5.6m). Although less nailed in terms of gametime Bailey is more advanced than his teammate and more likely to return in any given game.
Other Great Budget Picks
We could see a new manager bounce from Crystal Palace this week. The Eagles face a torrid Burnley defence and so have a very good opportunity to take all three points. Striker Jean-Philippe Mateta (£4.9m) will certainly lead the frontline after two returns in his last three matches.
Some managers will also be interested in Manchester United this week as they have a meeting with Fulham next up. Midfielder Alejandro Garnacho (£5m) seems to be in great form recently after managing 23 points in his last three matches.
Everton have failed to score in four of their last six league matches which could bode well for a Brighton defender. The Seagulls have picked up a clean sheet in three of their last six and centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke (£4.1m) is the cheapest and most reliable route into the backline.
