Due a goal in Gameweek 26
Of last week’s lowly three names, Raheem Sterling put Chelsea ahead against his former club Man City but John McGinn could not muster any shots for Aston Villa.
With this being published before Monday night’s meeting between Everton and Crystal Palace, it’s not yet known whether Dominic Calvert-Lewin has ended his 13-match goalless streak in Gameweek 25. He enters as the league’s biggest xG underachiever (-5.85).
It’s also before the Tuesday and Wednesday games that see Man City, Brentford, Liverpool and Luton play a second time. Not only that, the latter two have a Blank Gameweek 26 just like Chelsea and Spurs.
Therefore, there are only three new entrants to this list. Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon scored from the penalty spot versus Bournemouth whilst deputising for injured team-mates up front. He had four attempts, two on target and 1.06 xG but now has to face rampant Arsenal.
Slightly behind Gordon on 116 overall points is Pascal Gross. The German assisted one of Brighton’s five goals at Sheffield United to make it three successive matches with an attacking return. He’ll be a top target when replacing the well-owned assets that blank this weekend.
There’s also the enticing option of a Wolves midfielder about to host Sheffield United. Pedro Neto and Hwang Hee-chan immediately come to mind but Pablo Sarabia would be even more of a differential. He’s had three big chances in the last four outings.
