We pick out the best budget players for Gameweek 22. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout fixture ticker and underlying stats we provide some of the best cheap players, whether that be goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders or forwards for the round ahead.
Finding some of the best budget players for Gameweek 22 can be extremely useful to managers. Cheap players are vital when it comes to trying to fit in the more expensive options and can even be great standalone assets.
Fixtures
Below we can see the ticker in order of fixture difficulty. The teams at the top have the easiest fixtures and the teams at the bottom have the toughest fixtures.
Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace have been struggling recently. The Eagles have won just one of their last 10 matches in all competitions which is a concern. But, they come up against Sheffield United this week. The Blades remain bottom of the table and although performances on the pitch have improved they are still conceding some of the worst offensive and defensive data in the league.
With the above in mind a cheap Crystal Palace defensive player could have solid potential this week. Some could opt for the man between the sticks Dean Henderson (£4.4m). In defence Tyrick Mitchell (£4.6m) could be the standout pick. Mitchell has already scored this season showing he has some goal threat.
In attack, leading the frontline is Jean-Phillips Mateta (£4.5m) who picked up a 12-point haul against Manchester City in Gameweek 17. A more expensive option is of course midfielder Eberechi Eze (£6m). He still comes in at a lovely price, takes penalties, set pieces and is their talisman.
Brighton
Brighton are another side who offer up some fantastic budget picks. The Seagulls come up against Luton next up who again, similar to Sheffield United, have been improving recently, but they are still also producing poor statistics in general.
Although Brighton have lacked defensively so far this season they have also managed two back-to-back clean sheets. For those looking to their defensive assets then centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke comes in at just £4m. Hecke created two assists in his last three matches in all competition which shows he also has some attacking potential.
Brighton sit amongst the best six teams for most of the key offensive metrics which suggests they could also be worth attacking investment. The standout budget option in the frontline is penalty taker and striker Joao Pedro (£5.5m). Pedro incredibly picked up between 2-3 attacking returns in three of his last four matches which highlights his fine recent form.
Alejandro Garnacho
Manchester United aren’t exactly the most reliable team to invest in based on the season so far. Although inconsistent the Red Devils seem to be finding their feet offensively – scoring between 2-3 goals in three of their last four matches. This scoring run could be a much needed boost and they take that going into a meeting with Wolves next up.
One player who has shined for Manchester United this season is midfielder Alejandro Garnacho. Garnacho comes in at a jaw-dropping £4.8m and seems to be starting every match for his side. This suggests his gametime is secure moving forward. In terms of his recent output Garnacho has banked three returns in his last three matches – scoring two goals and one assist.
