Best Strikers to Buy for Gameweek 21 and Onwards in FPL

In this article we take a look at the best strikers to buy for Gameweek 21 and onwards. To help us do this we head over to the Fantasy Football Scout members area, there we utilise the fixture ticker and underlying stats to help us.

Knowing who the best strikers to buy for Gameweek 21 and onwards are in FPL can be very beneficial to fantasy managers. The striker slots have been an awkward position for some years now so picking the right ones can help our overall rank and mini-league position moving forward.

Fixtures

The fixture ticker has ordered teams with the easiest fixtures at the top and the teams with the toughest fixtures at the bottom.

Erling Haaland

Manchester City seem to be gaining some momentum again after winning four matches in all competitions on the bounce. In the same matches the champions also netted between 2-4 goals in each of those games.

In terms of schedule although they rank eighth on the ticker Manchester City face some of the worst recent defences in the league coming up. They have meetings with teams like Newcastle, Burnley, Brentford, Everton, Chelsea and Bournemouth in their next six matches.

Leading the attack is Erling Haaland (£13.9m). The Norwegian looks set to make a return from injury this week against Newcastle. As we can see from the graphic below, although missing a chunk of gametime due to that injury Haaland still ranks joint first for goals scored.

Haaland also ranks first for big chances total, third for total attempts and second best for shots in the box. Haaland has maintained elite attacking data all season and with his return from injury and schedule ahead, he could have massive potential.

Ollie Watkins

It is now common knowledge how good Aston Villa have been this season. In fact, they currently sit second in the league which reflects exactly that. When focusing on their attacking data so far this season Aston Villa rank joint second best for goals scored, joint third best for assists and second best for shot to goal conversion.

The above shows how potent Aston Villa are in front of goal. They take that form into matches against teams including Everton, Newcastle, Sheffield United, Manchester United and Nottingham Forest coming up.

Leading the ruthless Aston Villa frontline is Ollie Watkins (£8.9m). Watkins has been brilliant this season and we can see that by taking a look at the image below. So far this season only Mohamed Salah has picked up more attacking returns than Ollie Watkins. He also sits as the third highest scoring player in the game as a result.

Dominic Solanke

Bournemouth rank bottom of the fixture ticker which suggests they have the toughest schedule in the league over the next six Gameweeks. The Cherries have matches against Liverpool, West Ham, Nottingham Forest, Fulham, Newcastle and Manchester City.

Whilst the above may be off-putting Bournemouth have been excellent recently. In fact, prior to their recent loss against Tottenham they won six of their last seven matches. They also managed to score 2-3 goals in all seven of those same matches. When comparing their frontline to every other side in the division in the last six Gameweeks they rank second for goals scored.

Helping his side with their recent form was Dominic Solanke (£7m). Using the table below we can see that he sits joint top for goals scored, joint best for total attempts on goal and top for shots in the box.

It is also worth highlighting that no player in the league this season has had more attempts on goal or shots in the box so far than Solanke.

Other great options

Some could also consider Brighton. The Seagulls sit at the top of the fixture ticker with some great matchups from an attacking sense. The focal point in the Brighton frontline is Joao Pedro (£5.4m). Pedro sits joint first amongst his teammates for total attacking returns this season. He also takes his sides penalties.

Leading the ruthless Liverpool attack is Darwin Nunez (£7.4m). Nunez will be hoping to cover for Mohamed Salah whilst he plays in the African Cup of Nations. He also ranks in the top four players this season so far for total attempts on goal.

Another player who could have potential is Ivan Toney (£7.9m). The Brentford main man returns after a lengthy ban kept him side-lined for months. It could be worth highlighting that Toney has the potential to double in the rounds ahead.
