The Top Five
- Ollie Watkins – Aston Villa play at home this week, where they are notoriously much stronger. They face Sheffield United next up and focal point to the attack Watkins sits at the top of the pile with 6.40 points.
- Son Heung-Min – Tottenham face a meeting with an in-form Everton next up which could pose a challenge. Their standout attacker Son looks set for another big week and sits second on the list with 5.97 points.
- Mohamed Salah – Liverpool rank first for expected goals this season. They also top most of the key offensive metrics. They could struggle to maintain that with a game against Arsenal next, one of the best defences in the league statistically. Either way, Mohamed Salah is set to pick up 5.54 points in the round ahead.
- Kieran Trippier – Newcastle have been maintaining some great defensive data this season. The Magpies have a great chance to keep a clean sheet this week. Luton lay ahead for Newcastle and full-back Trippier sits fourth with 5.18 points. He returns after serving a one match suspension in Gameweek 17.
- Pedro Porro – Completing the top five players is Porro with 4.52 points. Tottenham rank joint second best for clean sheets this season. Porro also offers bags of creativity. In fact Porro has managed to create an assist in four of his last six games.
Who else joins the Top 10?
- Emiliano Martinez – The first of two goalkeepers to make the top 10 this week is Martinez. Aston Villa have managed two back-to-back clean sheets at home against Arsenal and Manchester City. With this in mind there is no surprise Martinez sits sixth with 4.47 points, especially when considering he faces Sheffield United next.
- Alexander Isak – Newcastle rank second best for expected goals and the best for big chances total this season so far. Leading the attack against a poor Luton is Isak. The Swedish international has struggled in terms of output recently but still sits seventh for points with 4.46.
- Cole Palmer – The only Chelsea player to make it into the top 10 for Gameweek 18 is Palmer. The midfielder takes his sides penalties and has managed two double-digit hauls this season already. A game against Wolves could see him hit 4.36 points.
- Richarlison – Tottenham sit amongst the top four teams in the league for goals scored this campaign. Other than Son another great option could be Richarlison. The Brazilian has netted in both of his last two matches and that could continue this week (4.36).
- Bernd Leno – Fulham’ two latest 5-0 victories have helped Leno to become the current highest scoring goalkeeper in the game. Fulham play at home this week against a poor newly promoted Burnley. Leno has a chance to extend his form this week and is predicted to hit 4.34 points.
