Introduction
Welcome back to my GW16 Team reveal for Serie A Fantasy. Here, I pen down my thoughts about the team, my transfers if any, and my captain for each upcoming GW.
Looking at GW15 first I got 69 points with a GW average of 63 points. It was a small red arrow that took me from 795th to 1.1K in the world and now 7th in Germany after GW15.
The stars of the GW for me were Lautaro Martinez who scored 11 points and I captained for 22 points and Danilo with a 10-pointer on his return to the Juventus starting line-up. There are some good fixtures to target in GW16 for Milan, Sassuolo and Napoli.
Round 16 Team Reveal (subject to change)
Goalkeeper
- Yann Sommer (€5.2m) – My transfer in the last GW got nine points in GW15. He kept yet another clean sheet to make it 10 shutouts in 15 games. Sommer has been by far the most reliable GK in Serie A this season both in terms of security of starts and source of consistent points. He currently sits atop the list of GKs with the most points after GW15 with seven double-digit hauls to boast in just 15 GWs.
Defenders
- Giovanni Di Lorenzo (€7.2m) – I did expect a return from Di Lorenzo in GW15 but it was not to be as he finished with six points as Juventus beat Napoli 1-0. Napoli will play Cagliari at home in GW16 and there is no better time to play Di Lorenzo who can even be considered for captaincy this GW.
- Theo Hernandez (€6.8m) – My second defender for GW16 will be Theo Hernandez from AC Milan. Theo is slowly starting to show why he is the second most expensive defender in this game. I hope he continues his form in the upcoming games. Theo and Milan now play Monza at home in GW16 and I hope he can again bring in some good points.
- Diego Llorente (€4.6m) – My third defender in GW15 will be Llorente from Roma. He has had a decent source of points whenever I have played him. Roma are known to be a resilient team that are difficult to break down. Llorente and Roma will be playing Bologna away in GW16. Although Bologna have been great recently I do expect a close game and Llorente can hopefully get some decent points.
- Danilo (€6.2m) – My fourth and final defender in GW16 will be Danilo from Juventus who is back almost fully fit after a long injury layoff and immediately looked on it in GW15. When he is on the pitch he is the mainstay in the Juventus backline contributing not just via defensive actions but getting some goal contributions as well in the process.
Midfielders
- Morten Frendrup (€4.4Mm) – My cheap enabler is Frendrup. He is quietly going about his business at least from a fantasy perspective. Frendrup has racked up 88 TBIs in just 15 games which is the highest in the league by 25 TBIs. He also shows that no matter what he can always get anywhere between 5-7 points every GW. The midfielder will be up against Juventus in GW16. I expect a load of TBI points again at the very least. He is also one of the few MIDs who has played every single minute of the season.
- Nicolas González (€6.8m) – One of my recent transfer-ins was González. Unfortunately I had Deja vu from last season where he was benched again. In 12 Games he has six goals and one assist and has notched up 86 points in Serie A Fantasy and at just 6.8M price he offers great value. Fiorentina will play Verona at home in GW16. Given their good win vs Salernitana in GW14 I do expect another good team performance which will hopefully have González featuring from the start.
- Domenico Berardi (€10.6m) – Berardi will again be one of my midfield players for GW16 after his suspension for five yellow cards. But, he will be back fresh to play Udinese. And if we know anything about Berardi, he will have a great GW16 and prove yet again why he is one of the best premium midfield assets to own in this game. He will also be my captain going into GW16.
- Cyril Ngonge (€5m) – My second cheap enabler is Cyril Ngonge for this GW as Verona take on Fiorentina. At just a 5m he already has four goals and two assist in 14 starts in a decent Verona team. I expect him to keep going with his form in the coming GW against Fiorentina at home. Ngonge has 31 points in his last three games and he slowly established himself as one of the important cogs in that Verona side.
Forwards
- Oliver Giroud (€8.8m) – My transfer this week for a suspended Lukaku will be Giroud from AC Milan. Giroud now has eight goals and three assists in 11 starts for Milan sharing the Talisman duties with Leao. He scored in both of his last two fixtures before he was suspended for a red card in GW12. I expect him to do well again in GW16 especially after a good win in UCL vs Newcastle midweek. Milan will play Monza at home in GW16. They do have a good record against them so I am hopeful of a good points return for the Milan striker.
- Lautaro Martinez (€11.2m) – Martinez looks a level above everyone else at the moment in Serie A. So far he has 14 goals and two assists in just 15 games for Inter. Lautaro scored yet again vs Juventus in GW13 assisted in the win vs Napoli in GW14. He also scored in the win in GW15 so I expect some fireworks when Inter play Lazio in GW16. Lautaro is a firm hold given his form.
Captaincy
At the moment of writing this article it is currently on Domenico Berardi for reasons I have mentioned above. Giovanni Di Lorenzo is also in the running for captaincy as things stand.
As per usual, I will try and let everyone know on Twitter before the deadline so make sure you are following me on there @FPLRossoneriNick. That’s it for my GW16 Team reveal, see you in GW17. Until then best of luck for GW16 in Serie A Fantasy, may all your arrows be green.
