FPL: Buy Sell and Keep for Gameweek 17

The 16th round of Fantasy Premier League is over so we look to the next and look at which players are a buy sell and keep for Gameweek 17. Whether that be through injury, team and player form or other factors we advise the potential fate of assets in your teams.

Looking at players who are a buy sell and keep for Gameweek 17 could be extremely beneficial to FPL managers. Knowing what to do with assets in your team can ultimately bring clarity with transfer use, captaincy and chip strategy.

Buy

Bukayo Saka (£9m) – Brighton lay ahead for Arsenal who will want revenge after their 1-0 loss to Aston Villa in the last round. The Seagulls are yet to keep a clean sheet this season which highlights them as a team to target. Saka takes penalties but he has also managed to return at least once in 12 of his 15 matches so far.

Ollie Watkins (£8.4m) – Aston Villa have continued their excellent form after wins against both Manchester City and Arsenal recently. Leading the attack is Ollie Watkins who sits as the fourth highest scoring player in the game due to his consistency. He faces a Brentford side struggling to keep clean sheets.

Dominic Solanke (£6.6m) – Bournemouth have won four of their last five matches so far. The Cherries have also produced some of the best attacking data in the league in the last six games. Leading the attack and taking penalties is Solanke. He faces Luton next and good fixtures ahead.

Cole Palmer (£5.4m) – Chelsea may be struggling for consistency but they face the worst defence in the league next up. The Blues also rank amongst the top four teams for expected goals. Because of that and the good fixtures ahead Palmer could be a great option. He takes his sides penalties and is one of their most influential attackers.

Son (£9.6m) – Tottenham and their free-flowing attack way of playing come up against a defensively out of form Nottingham Forest next up. The focal point and penalty taker is Son. Son managed a whopping 17 points in his last match.

Pedro Porro (£5.4m) – With all of the defensive issues in our teams Porro may just be the answer. The full-back has managed to create an assist in four of his last five matches. This shows how creative he can be.

Sell

Matty Cash (£4.8m) – Cash has failed to start the last matches for Aston Villa so selling him could be a wise move.

Douglas Luiz (£5.6m) – The Aston Villa midfielder and penalty taker is suspended until December 22nd so it could be a great time to move him on.

Bryan Mbeumo (£6.9m) – For those that still haven’t sold Mbeumo, now is the time. Not only is he injured for weeks but he also has a blank Gameweek in Gameweek 18.

Reece James (£5.4m) – Reece James picked up yet another injury upon his return from a previous injury.

Erling Haaland (£14m) – This is one of the most interesting additions to the buy sell and keep for Gameweek 17. The Norwegian is a major doubt for Gameweek 17 but he also doesn’t play in Gameweek 18 either due to the blank. Moving him onto another striker could be a wise move but making sure you have the money in the bank to bring him back is critical.

Bruno Fernandes (£8.3m) – The Manchester United midfielder has been below par this season as an FPL asset. Not just that but he is also suspended until December 23rd which makes him an easy sell this week.

Hold

Raheem Sterling (£7.1m) – Although Sterling failed to start the last match he is likely to return to the starting 11 this week. He has good fixtures ahead but Sheffield United next who have the worst defence in the league.

Liverpool – It may look like a tough game next on paper for Liverpool but Manchester United have been inconsistent all season. Liverpool have also netted at least three goals in their last five matches against Manchester United. Assets like defender Kostas Tsimikas (£4.9m), midfielder Mohamed Salah (£13.2m) and and striker Darwin Nunez (£7.6m) could still have huge potential.

Phil Foden (£7.6m) – The Manchester City midfielder may have blanked in his last two matches and have a blank Gameweek coming up but he is one his sides most influential and reliable players this season. He also faces an out of form Crystal Palace defence up next.

Kieran Trippier (£7m) – It may be tempting to sell Trippier due to his suspension but he returns in blank Gameweek 18 which could be a huge boost. He is also maintaining some of the best creative and assist data in the division.

Jarrod Bowen (£7.7m) – Bowen has a game in Gameweek 18 so selling him doesn’t make much sense. He is West Ham’ most influential player in terms of goal involvement and comes up against Wolves next.
