Gameweek 15 Best Free Hit Team

With a new Gameweek upon us we take a look at the free hit chip. Using the Fantasy Football Scout members area we can utilise the season ticker and underlying stats to determine the Gameweek 15 best free hit team.

The free hit chip in FPL allows managers, within the same budget and formational limits, to select a team for one particular Gameweek. Managers can attack any given Gameweek with the free hit whether that be to utilise a good set of fixtures, in-form teams or players or a mixture of it all.

Fixtures

Who has the best fixtures?

Arsenal, Fulham, Crystal Palace, Wolves and Liverpool rank in the top five teams with the easiest fixtures.

Who has the worst fixtures?

Aston Villa, Chelsea, Luton, Sheffield United and Everton rank in the bottom five teams with the toughest fixtures.

Gameweek 15 Best Free Hit Team

Using the Live FPL website we can use one of its fantastic tools to plan transfers weeks in advance. Not just this, but we can also create team drafts to plan for using a chip. Take a look at the best free hit team for Gameweek 15:

Goalkeepers

The injury to Nick Pope means we have an opportunity to invest in backup Martin Dubravka (£3.9m). Dubravka is a cheap way into the joint best defence in the league. Backing him up is Wolves backup David Bentley (£3.9m) who will play due to the injury to Josa Sa. He will only feature for us in the unlikely event that Dubravka doesn’t.

Defenders

As nice as the the cheap enabling Newcastle defenders are they simply cannot cover full-back Kieran Trippier (£7m). Trippier has picked up more assists than any other defender in the league this season and most players in the game with seven.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8m) may be pricey but he takes his sides set pieces and is one of the most attacking full-backs in the league – soring in each of his last two league matches. He also has the potential to keep a clean sheet against Sheffield United (the worst attack in the division).

Joining Newcastle as the joint best for clean sheets kept so far its Arsenal so investing in them could be key. They face Luton next up who have been sustaining some of the worst offensive data in the league. One route into the Arsenal backline is centre-back Gabriel (£4.9m).

Enabling the rest of the team we can include budget defenders like Burnley full-back Charlie Taylor (£4m) who managed an assist and a clean sheet in his last match. Joining him is Everton man Jarrod Branthwaite (£4.1m). He picked up nine points in his last match.

Midfielders

Sheffield United aren’t just poor offensively but they are the worst side in the league in terms of defence. The Blades are terrible so Mohamed Salah (£13.1m) is an absolute must. Salah remains the highest player in the game due to his fantastic consistency.

Anthony Gordon (£6m) – Monitoring news for Gordon could be wise as he was playing with an injury during his last match. Gordon has snuck into the top five scoring midfielders in the game after claiming 11 returns in his first 14 matches.

Brighton remain one of the worst defences in the league this season – failing to keep a single clean sheet so far. The standout attacker from Brentford is Bryan Mbeumo (£7.1m). Only Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland can better Mbeumo’ non-penalty expected goal involvement so far.

Nottingham Forest face Fulham next and the Cottagers rank in the worst five teams for several key defensive metrics. Targeting Fulham could be beneficial and Morgan Gibbs-White (£5.7m) stands out above the rest. Gibbs-White is the Nottingham Forest penalty taker and he has also managed three returns in his last three matches.

Crystal Palace have a great opportunity against a Bournemouth side who sit in the worst three teams in the league for several defensive metrics. With that in mind Michael Olise (£5.8m) could be a good move. Olise managed to create more chances and big chances than any of his teammates last season and scored upon his return from injury. Olise also takes his sides set pieces.

Forwards

Sheffield United are the best team to target from an attacking point of view so doubling up on Liverpool who rank the best in the league for expected goals makes sense this week. Darwin Nunez (£7.7m) has had more attempts on goal than any other player in the last six matches and has already racked up 10 returns this campaign.

Manchester City come up against an Aston Villa side who have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last seven league matches,. Erling Haaland (£14m) is the player to take advantage of that as he sits as the second highest scoring player in the game due to his relentlessness.

Cameron Archer (£4.6m) helps to enable the side in terms of budget but is also very unlikely to feature.
