Which players are due a goal in Gameweek 14?

Picking out the players that look likely to score in an FPL gameweek is a big part of management. Using recent underlying stats from the Fantasy Football Scout, we assess which players are due a goal in Gameweek 14.

Recent FPL goals

Some attackers are in great form over the last four Gameweeks:

However, others are shooting and getting in the right places without having either luck or end product. So let’s look at the players who have met the following criteria over their last four league appearances:

  • No more than one goal
  • At least eight shots
  • At least two big chances
  • An expected goals (xG) tally of 1.00
  • An expected goal involvement (xGI) of 1.20

Due a goal in Gameweek 14

Of last week’s list, three names have been lost. Oliver McBurnie came on at half-time to make his first appearance since Gameweek 9 but, having scored both times, he’s not due anymore.

The Neal Maupay cameo led to nothing, while Marcus Rashford netted for the first time since Gameweek 4 but – having accumulated only six shots in his last four – makes way.

Ranked by xG

Naturally, Darwin Nunez is still here. His rotation risk has lessened by starting Liverpool’s last four league matches but he’s goalless in the most recent three. He had four shots on Saturday against Man City, moving him to joint-second (39) over the campaign.

Expect huge Bryan Mbeumo interest for Brentford’s strong-looking run of imminent fixtures. He’s quickly risen twice in price – on Friday and Monday – because he’s a good, underpriced replacement for the hurt Kaoru Mitoma and Jarrod Bowen. Not only has Mbeumo delivered six goals and three assists from midfield but his xGI (11.18) is only betted by Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah. And 3.30 of this came from his latest four outings.

A surprise entrant is Luis Sinisterra. Deadline day’s loan arrival at Bournemouth is yet to start a league game for the Cherries. Six cameos have totalled 182 minutes but he netted the Gameweek 11 consolation at Man City and found time for eight shots in 60 minutes versus Newcastle and Sheffield United.
