FPL Differentials for the Next Five Gameweeks

In this article we take a look at some of the best FPL differentials for the next five Gameweeks. To do this we use the fixture ticker and underlying team and player statistics provided in the Fantasy Football Scout members area.

FPL differentials can be extremely beneficial for those playing the game. Differentials are players who have low ownership which can help us gain rank and get ahead of our mini-league rivals if they perform well.

Fixtures

Here we can see that the teams at the top of the ticker have the easiest fixtures and the teams at the bottom have the toughest fixtures. This will help us to pick out some FPL differentials in the next five Gameweeks.

Cole Palmer – 6.7%

Looking at the fixture ticker, Chelsea rank in the bottom four sides. However, some of the teams they face like Newcastle, Brighton and Manchester United, although tough on paper, are experiencing key defensive injuries and in turn much worse defensive performances. The Blues also come up against Everton and Sheffield United next too.

Cole Palmer (£5.1m) has become a mainstay in the Chelsea frontline since joining from Manchester City. His recent performances have been excellent and a huge factor towards Chelsea’ recent results. Palmer ranks above all of his offensive teammates for non-penalty expected goal involvement in the last six matches. He also takes his sides penalties which is another huge appeal. Palmer is consistent at the moment and we can see that in the fact he’s manged to return in five of his last six games.

Taiwo Awoniyi – 2.2%

Nottingham Forest have a great run of fixtures ahead according to the ticker. They have meetings with the likes of Brighton, Everton, Fulham and Wolves in the next five matches. Offensively Forest aren’t one of the most consistent sides in the league but recently they have managed to net two goals in three of their last four matches.

One of the biggest reasons for the above is striker Taiwo Awoniyi (£6.4m). Awoniyi made a fantastic start to the new campaign – picking up a return in all of his first five matches. Not only does he sit above all of his teammates for non-penalty expected goal involvement so far but since returning from injury Awoniyi has already bagged a return.

Dominic Solanke – 2.9%

Bournemouth will be hoping to carry the confidence of their 2-0 win against Newcastle to their run of matches ahead. The Cherries come up against Sheffield United, Manchester United, Crystal Palace and Luton in the run ahead.

There is a great opportunity to go different and invest in Bournemouth for the schedule ahead. The standout attacker is of course striker Dominic Solanke (£6.4m). He leads the frontline and also takes his sides penalties, two things we want in any attacker. In terms of output in FPL Solanke has collected at least one return in six of his 12 matches – two of them coming in his most recent match against Newcastle.

Anthony Gordon – 11%

Newcastle may come up against some of the ‘big six’ in the matches ahead but all of Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham have shown defensive instability recently. The Magpies also face Fulham and Everton within the period ahead which gives added appeal.

Due to injuries midfielder Anthony Gordon (£5.8m) seems to be playing in an advanced position which makes him even more enticing as an investment. He only sits behind Aleksander Isak in terms of non-penalty expected goal involvement this season for his side. His great underlying data has also converted into FPL points too – registering at least one return in seven of his 11 matches so far.

Simon Adingra – 1.1%

Brighton may not be performing to their usual high standard in terms of results but they’re scoring goals. They are still also one of the top offensive sides in the league – ranking second best for shots on target. The Seagulls have meetings with Nottingham Forest, Burnley and Brentford in the run ahead so there’s plenty of potential there for a Brighton attacker.

Rotation seems to be an issue for some of the Brighton attackers but midfielder Simon Adingra (£5m) looks to be avoiding it – starting all five of his sides last league games. Adingra isn’t just a cheap starter in the Brighton frontline but he’s also racked up two goals and one assist in his last two matches in all competitions.
