Which players are due a goal in Gameweek 10?

Picking out the players that look likely to score in an FPL gameweek is a big part of management. Using recent underlying stats from the Fantasy Football Scout, we assess which players are due a goal in Gameweek 10.

Recent FPL goals

Some attackers are in great form over their last four matches:

However, others are shooting and getting in the right places without having either luck or end product. So let’s look at the players who have met the following criteria over their last four league appearances:

  • No more than one goal
  • At least 9 shots
  • At least two big chances
  • An expected goals (xG) tally of 1.00
  • An expected goal involvement (xGI) of 1.20

Due a goal in Gameweek 10

Our list has been whittled down this week, with Eberechi Eze’s injury meaning he’ll miss next weekend.

The trio of Nicolas Jackson, Zeki Amdouni and Dominic Solanke also disappear. Blanks arrived for the first two but the Bournemouth forward netted his second from four matches, meaning he’s delivering consistently for his 2.9% ownership.

Ranked by xG

Of the four that do make the list, Richarlison has yet to play this week. Spurs face Fulham tonight, giving him a chance to overcome the early-season disappointment brought to those who took a punt on him.

As expected, Darwin Nunez was limited to a cameo appearance due to his international break travelling. Those 28 minutes were still enough time to assist Mohamed Salah’s second, though.

A surprise name is Christian Norgaard. His recent xG and xGI numbers actually outdo similarly-priced Brentford team-mate Mathias Jensen, despite the latter entering Gameweek 9 as FPL’s joint-sixth-best midfielder with 46 points.

Everton’s Beto hasn’t started their last three outings now that Dominic Calvert-Lewin is back. Most of his goal threat came in Gameweeks 6 and 7.
