Top 10 most popular FPL picks for Gameweek 8

The new round is approaching and many within the community have started making early changes to their teams. Because of this we check out the highest owned players in the game and pick out the top 10 most popular FPL picks for Gameweek 8 with the help of theĀ Fantasy Premier League website.

Player ownership has become a massive part of Fantasy Premier League so knowing who top 10 most popular FPL picks for Gameweek 8 can help when it comes to making hard decisions regarding the use of transfers, captaincy and more.

The Top Five

  • Erling Haaland (92.4%) – The Manchester City striker continues to reign at the top of the pile. The Norwegian has a massive tie against Arsenal this week but he will be hoping to add to his 10+ goal contributions here.
  • Pervis Estupinan (61.9%) – The full-back continues to dominate the defender bracket. His side are yet to keep a single clean sheet this season. In addition, they face one of the most in-from scoring teams in the division up next in Liverpool.
  • Bukayo Saka (58.7%) – Arsenals main man and penalty taker continues to be the highest selected player in the game. He has the mammoth task of picking up a return against holders Manchester City in Gameweek 8.
  • Kaoru Mitoma (44.1%) – Brighton may be poor defensively but they rank amongst the leagues highest goal scorers. Their standout attacker is Mitoma who could have some luck against Liverpool up next.
  • Kieran Trippier (40.7%) – Newcastle have an interesting tie against West Ham this week. Kieran Trippier continues to display fantastic distribution stats and picked up a huge 18 points in his recent match against Sheffield United.

Who else makes the top 10?

  • Julian Alvarez (32%) – Manchester City are averaging above two goals scored per match this season so there is no surprise that another one of their attackers makes the top 10. Like Haaland, Alvarez could also have his work cut out this week with a massive game against Arsenal.
  • Alphonse Areola (31.8%) – The West Ham goalkeeper seems to be catching the eyes of FPL managers. His ownership may be rising but it could be a rough week for the man between the sticks considering he faces an in-form Newcastle frontline.
  • Mohamed Salah (31.5%) – At the time of writing the Egyptian has returned in all of his games so far. Liverpool are also in fantastic scoring form. Taking into account that the Reds face a poor Brighton backline up next Salah could well be a wise investment.
  • James Maddison (30.2%) – Sitting ninth on the list is this man. He ranks as one of the best in the league for several key attacking data points. Tottenham come up against a very poor Luton in Gameweek 8 so Maddison could have bags of potential.
  • Marcus Rashford (29.2%) – The final player to make the list is Rashford. Manchester United will be hoping to regain a run of positive results after their start to the campaign. The Reds will have to attempt that against Brentford and Rashford will be looking to lead the way.
