How to manage blank Gameweek 2
The next round of Fantasy Premier League is approaching and some will be wondering how to manage blank Gameweek 2. We take a look at the teams who do not have a fixture, how to manage it and what are the options.
A blank Gameweek is a phrase referring to a team or teams who do not have a fixture in that particular round. They can be very difficult to manage so planning for them can be very important and for that reason we take a look how to manage blank Gameweek 2.
Blank Gameweek 2
We can see from the Fantasy Football Scout season ticker below that Burnley and Luton do not have a fixture in Gameweek 2.
Burnley and Luton ownership
Below is a list of the highest owned Burnley and Luton players. We can see that the highest owned player between both sides is defender Amari’i Bell (£4m – 9.4%). The second highest owned player between the sides is wing-back Issa Kabore (£4m – 6.6%). Completing the top three highest owned players is centre-back Jordan Beyer (£4m).
The player ownership below suggests that not many managers own a Burnley or Luton asset. This means the chances of a blank Gameweek affecting them is low. But what of managers who do own one?
Substitutes bench
It is unlikely that managers who own a Burnley or Luton player do not have another option on the bench. If that is the case then there is no need to remove them from your squad as both return in Gameweek 3 with fixtures.
What if I own a Luton and a Burnley asset?
Judging by the ownership above, those that do own a Burnley asset, Luton asset or both are likely to own defenders. If that is the case then there is another great option to switch two in the form of Sheffield United wing-back George Baldock. Not only does Baldock come in at £4m so it is an easy swap but he also has a fixture in Gameweek 2.
Money in the bank?
Some FPL managers may have decided to keep some money in the bank. For those that can make the switch, here is a list of great budget friendly defenders:
- Pervis Estupinan (£5m – Brighton).
- Gabriel (£5m – Arsenal).
- Joachim Anderson (£4.5m – Crystal Palace).
- Sven Botman (£4.5m – Newcastle).
- Levi Colwill (£4.5m – Chelsea).
- Rico Henry (£4.5m – Brentford).
- Tyrone Mings (£4.5m – Aston Villa).
- James Tarkowski (£4.5m – Everton).
Why it could be important to roll the transfer?
Carrying a transfer can be really important going into Gameweek 3, why? Because as we can see teams like Chelsea, Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Everton come into a great run of fixtures. With that in mind, having transfer ready to use on assets from those teams could help and also prevent the use of hits.
