Transfers and Gossip up to August 2nd

As the leagues prepare to commence around Europe and the rest of the world, many will be looking to buy, loan or sell players. We catchup with the transfers and gossip up to August 2nd with the help of top tier source Fabrizio Romano and other reliable sources.

Overviewing the transfers and gossip up to August 2nd can be a huge help for fantasy managers around the world. Whether it affects Fantasy Premier League, UCL Fantasy or another Fantasy game, we look at what the deal could mean for the player or team from a fantasy point of view.

Will Kane leave Spurs?

David Ornstein has been closely following the potential departure of Harry Kane from Tottenham. He confirmed that there was no agreement reached in a meeting between the clubs. He also mentioned that talks will continue and as things stand Bayern are £25m short of reaching a deal.

Harry Kane has been one of the best strikers in the world for some time. Not only has he been consistent every season but last campaign he racked up a huge 30 goals in the Premier League.

If Harry Kane did leave Spurs it would have multiple effects on multiple fantasy games. One of the biggest impact his departure would have is on FPL – not only would we have one less premium player but other options like midfielder Richarlison (£7m) could become even more appealing.

Kane joining Bayern would also have a considerable effect on both Bundesliga Fantasy and UCL Fantasy as he would likely be one of the most standout options in both.

Hojlund to Manchester United

David Ornstein also covered the situation between Atalanta and Manchester United. He states that Rasmus Hojlund is to undergo a medical ahead of his move to the Reds. The deal has been agreed and worth €75 + €10m – the striker is set to sign a six year contract to the Premier League side.

Rasmus Hojlund is a 20-year-old striker who has already cemented a place as the focal point in the Denmark attack – he managed to score six goals in four European qualification matches. He also impressed for Atalanta in Serie A last campaign – bagging nine goals and creating two assists.

Hojlund will provide an interesting discussion around what the move could mean for Manchester United. The Reds created the second most chances in the Premier League last season but failed to convert on many occasions and this signing could improve their conversion rate.

Taking the above into account Rasmus Hojlund could become a viable option in for both FPL and UCL Fantasy managers.

Gray edges closer to Fulham

David Ornstein’ latest piece was regarding talks over the sale of Demarai Gray. Fellow Premier League side Fulham and Everton have agreed person terms with him. According to David the clubs are apart in terms of valuation.

Gray is a 27-year-old winger who predominately plays on the left flank. He produced five goals and one assist in his most recent league campaign for the Toffees but he also impressed for Jamaica in the Gold Cup – scoring two goals and registering two assists in just five matches.

There is no telling if Gray will become an option for Fulham in FPL, especially whilst midfielder Willian (£5.5m) is already holding down the left-wing position. With that in mind, if the deal does go through it could be worth just monitoring him early on.

Colwill signs for Chelsea

Fabrizio Romano covered the Levi Colwill news this week. He stated that Colwill has signed a new long term deal which is valid until 2029. Colwill agreed the deal early in the week and all documents are signed. New coach Mauricio Pochettino considers Colwill as one of the best talented centre-backs in the world.

Levi Colwill impressed during his loan spell at Brighton last season and his performances have convinced Chelsea of his talent. This could be very important for FPL managers as Colwill comes in at just £4.5m in FPL.
