Transfers and Gossip up to July 26th
As the leagues prepare to commence around Europe and the rest of the world, many will be looking to buy, loan or sell players. We catchup with the transfers and gossip up to July 26th with the help of top tier source Fabrizio Romano and other reliable sources.
Overviewing the transfers and gossip up to July 26th can be a huge help for fantasy managers around the world. Whether it affects Fantasy Premier League, UCL Fantasy or another Fantasy game, we look at what the deal could mean for the player or team from a fantasy point of view.
Liverpool and Lavia
David Ornstein confirmed that Southampton have rejected an opening offer from Liverpool for Romeo Lavia. The deal is thought to be worth £37m but the Saints are looking for a fee in a region of £50m – personal terms for Lavia will not be an issue.
Romeo Lavia is a 19-year-old central midfielder who can play in a centre and a defensive role. The former Manchester City U21 has been on many clubs radar. With the departures of Jordan Henderson and potentially Fabinho the Reds are desperate to make another signing in that position. This could then have a positive effect on their defensive appeal in FPL.
Fulham sign Jimenez
Fabrizio Romano states that Fulham have signed Raul Jimenez from Wolves. The Mexican has agreed a deal until the summer of 2025 with the transfer worth £5.5m. The deal also has an option to extend by a further 12 months.
Jimenez has been spearheading the Wolves attack for some years now in the Premier League. The 32-year-old’ best season was in 19/20 where he bagged 17 goals and registered six assists in 38 matches. Rumours suggest that Fulham star Aleksandar Mitrovic could depart the club so Jimenez has huge boots to fill. Jimenez could also take the Fulham penalties which would add to his appeal in FPL.
Hojlund and Manchester United
Fabrizio Romano understands the terms of the agreement between Rasmus Hojlund and Manchester United are clear and a five year deal until 2028 is being implicated. The contract has the option to extend by a further year.
Rasmus Hojlund is a Danish striker who plays his football at Atalanta in Italy. There he managed to bag nine goals and two assists last season. The 20-year-old has already played a significant role for country as well. If the young player joins the Reds, he could come in at a great price in FPL with UCL Fantasy managers also taking an interest.
Is Mane heading for an exit?
Rumours have been circulating of Bayern’ feelings that a Mane departure would be best for both parties. According to Fabrizio Romano his agent will travel to Japan this week to discuss negotiations with Saudi club Al Nassr.
Sadio Mane has maintained a great level of attacking output for some years now especially during his time at Liverpool. Unfortunately Mane and Bayern did not pan out the way both would have liked but he still collected seven goals and five assists in 25 matches for the German side. This move could implicate the Bayern assets as more reliable in UCL Fantasy.
Elanga joins Nottingham Forest
Fabrizio Romano also helped to announce the signing of Anthony Elanga from Manchester United on a permanent deal. Nottingham Forest announced the signing as well.
Elanga is a 21-year-old Swedish player who predominantly plays on the left and right wing. Elanga scored one goal in the Premier League this season but also impressed for his country – scoring a goal in each of his last two friendlies.
The winger comes in at a price-tag of £5m in FPL – a bracket that has been deemed as lacking by fantasy managers. If Elanga settles well and assures his minutes he could be a fantastic option at that price when good fixtures arrive.
