Transfers and Gossip up to July 22nd
As the leagues come to their conclusion around Europe and the rest of the world, many will be looking to buy, loan or sell players. We catchup with the transfers and gossip up to July 22nd with the help of top tier source Fabrizio Romano and other reliable sources.
Overviewing the transfers and gossip up to July 22nd can be a huge help for fantasy managers around the world. Whether it affects Fantasy Premier League, UCL Fantasy or another Fantasy game, we look at what the deal could mean for the player or team from a fantasy point of view.
Moussa Diaby to Aston Villa
David Ornstein has confirmed the signing of Bayer Leverkusen player Moussa Diaby to Aston Villa via an article with the Athletic. He also added that the deal is worth €40m (£34.6m) plus add-ons and Diaby will be an Aston Villa player.
Moussa Diaby is 24-years-old and predominantly plays as a winger. He played mostly on the right-wing last season. However, he also featured on the left-wing at times. Last season he managed nine goals and eight assists in 33 Bundesliga matches and could have great potential in FPL.
Harvey Barnes edges closer to Newcastle
David Ornstein also confirmed that Newcastle have reached an agreement to sign Harvey Barnes from Leicester. He also adds that the deal is worth in the region of £38m and that personal terms will not be a problem.
Harvey Barnes is a 25-year-old winger who plays on the left side of attack. Leicester may have been poor and relegated last season but Barnes still bagged 13 goals and one assist which is impressive. Many within the community will be monitoring him pre-season and looking forward to his price reveal.
Could Kylian Mbappe be on the move?
Fabrizio Romano confirmed that PSG consider Mbappe is for sale starting from today. He also mentions that PSG feel Mbappe wants to leave for free in 2024. However, Mbappe did not comment on anything yet despite the owners statement.
Kylian Mbappe is largely considered as one of the best attackers in the word along side Erling Haaland. A good example of this is that last season he racked up 29 goals and five assists in the league and seven goals and three assists in the Champions League.
Where Mbappe moves to will have a significant impact on any team and fantasy game he is designated to. Fantasy managers all over the world will be monitoring very closely but UCL Fantasy managers will be even more keen to see where he ends up.
Igor confirms his move to Brighton
Fabrizio Romano states that Igor has confirmed his imminent move to Brighton. He said “I’ll miss Florence and Fiorentina, this club is special” whilst also adding thanks to the fans. Brighton will pay €17m plus €3m add-ons fee. The Brighton manager commented on Igor saying the following “He’s a player I really like”.
So who is Igor? Igor is a central defender who has played the last four years in Italy’ top tier. Igor was instrumental to their success in the Europa Conference League last season and will almost certainly add to the much needed squad depth of Brighton.
Issa Kabore joins Luton
Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed the move of Issa Kabore to Fulham and mentioned the deal is signed. Manchester City will extend his contract to June 2023 and loan the player to Luton until the end of the season.
Issa Kabore is predominantly a right-back but can also play in a right wing-back position. Luton play with a back-three which means their wing-backs can get into some fantastic offensive positions. FPL managers will be keenly awaiting his price and monitoring his minutes during pre-season will also be key.
