Best mid-priced players in FPL

Fantasy Premier League has opened up its doors for another season with all of the player prices available to us. Whilst there are some fantastic budget and premium picks it could be wise to check out the best mid-priced players in FPL.

Taking a look at the best mid-priced players in FPL can be extremely important for managers. Of the 10 highest scoring players in the game last season, six of them made it into the list. This highlights the potential mid-price players have.

Goalkeepers (£5m)

  • Kepa Arrizabalaga – Chelsea have sold Edouard Mendy which means Kepa has increased reliability in terms of minutes. The Blues also have some of the best fixtures to start the new campaign.
  • Aaron Ramsdale – Arsenal maintained some of the best underlying defensive in the league last season and they also rank first on the season ticker for the first six matches.
  • David Raya – Raya was the highest scoring goalkeeper in Fantasy Premier League last season. If Brentford can keep hold of the Spaniard, he has a great set of starting fixtures.

Defenders (£5m-£5.5m)

  • Reece James (£5.5m) – Chelsea’s starting fixtures and Reece James’ historical goal threat makes him a very interesting prospect to start the campaign.
  • Luke Shaw (£5.5m) – Manchester United collected more clean sheets than any other side last season (17). The left-back also produced some great distribution stats last campaign.
  • John Stones (£5.5m) – Manchester City sustained some of the best defensive data last season. Stones also played a major role in midfielder during that time which gives him an increased likelihood of attacking returns.
  • Pervis Estupinan (£5m) – Brighton also sustained some of the best stats defensively last season whilst Pervis Estupinan was his sides most dangerous defender in terms of non-penalty expected goal involvement.
  • Gabriel (£5m) – Came into the game arguably under-priced. He has great fixtures to start the campaign and is a significant goal threat from set pieces.

Midfielders (£7m-£8.5m)

  • Bruno Fernandes (£8.5m) – He takes his sides penalties and produced some of the best distribution data amongst all players in the division last season.
  • Bukayo Saka (£8.5m) – Made the top six highest scoring players in the game last season, takes his sides penalties and has fantastic starting fixtures.
  • Martin Ødegaard (£8.5m) – The Norwegian managed to score 15 goals and produce seven assists last season. He was instrumental to Arsenal’ second place finish.
  • Phil Foden (£7.5m) – The injury to Kevin De Bruyne, departure of Ilkay Gundogan and potential departure of Riyad Mahrez could mean Foden has increased minutes for the most attacking side in the division.
  • James Maddison (£7.5m) – The former Leicester man scored 10 goals and created nine assists last season accumulating to 19 goal contributions. Considering this was for a relegated side, he could have huge potential playing for a better side.

Strikers (£7m-£8m)

  • Gabriel Jesus (£8m) – The Brazilian has fantastic fixtures with his side and is also the focal point to one of the most efficient attacks last season.
  • Ollie Watkins (£8m) – Not only did Watkins manage 16 goals and six assists last season but he also takes his sides penalties and leads the frontline.
  • Aleksandar Mitrovic (£7.5m) – Mitrovic sustained some fantastic goal threat stats for the first half of his season and also takes his sides penalties.
  • Christopher Nkunku (£7.5m) – The Frenchman has impressed in the Champions league for several seasons now and there is a good chance he also takes his sides penalties. In addition, he also has some great starting fixtures.
