FPL Position Changes for 2023/24

Every season some players have FPL position changes. This reflects where they spend the majority of their game time for their clubs. Here we have the full list of all of the players who have changed position this season.

There are 11 players who have FPL position changes for the 2023/24 season. The majority of them have moved from being a forward in the game to being a midfielder.

Forward to Midfielder

Diogo Jota (LIV) from Forward to Midfielder

Kai Havertz (ARS) from Forward to Midfielder

Richarlison (TOT) from Forward to Midfielder

Bryan Mbeumo (BRE) from Forward to Midfielder

Julio Enciso (BRI) from Forward to Midfielder

Brennan Johnson (NOT) from Forward to Midfielder

Jota, Havertz, Richarlison, Mbeumo, Johnson and Enciso where all listed as forwards in FPL during the 22/23 season. For the 23/24 season they will now be available as midfielders. This means that they will benefit from the additional points for goals and clean sheets.

Midfielder to Forward

Cody Gakpo (LIV) from Midfielder to Forward

Yoane Wisse (BRE) from Midfielder to Forward

Gakpo and Wisse have gone the other way. The Liverpool man and Brentford player have been reclassified as forwards for the new season. They have effectively swapped places with Jota and Mbeumo.

Defender to Midfielder

Sergi Canos (BRE) from Defender to Midfielder

Matt Richie (NEW) from Defender to Midfielder

There are two players in the game who were a defender last season and are now in midfield. Canos for Brentford and Ritchie for Newcastle.

Midfielder to Defender

Lewis Hall (CHE) from Midfielder to Defender

It is only Chelsea’s Lewis Hall who has been reclassified as a defender having been a midfielder last season.
