When are each club’s best 2023/24 FPL fixture periods?

The 2023/24 schedule was announced last week, allowing managers to assess each club’s best early FPL fixture periods.

On Thursday morning, 18 days into the 11-week summer break, came the reveal of Premier League fixtures for next season. While some may think it’s too early to start planning, others will already be using predicted prices to draft dozens of Fantasy squads for Gameweek 1.

For the latter, it’s useful to know which FPL fixture periods are best for each club until Gameweek 19’s midpoint. Therefore, using Fantasy Football Scout’s Season Ticker, let’s look at runs of at least five matches that could even help with deciding a Wildcard date.

Best FPL fixture periods

A good, early start

This method isn’t flawless. Most teams have an occasional outstanding fixture surrounded by poor-looking ones, therefore not featuring here.

For example, Brentford host Burnley and Luton in Gameweeks 9 and 14 but in between are Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. The latter of these hosts Sheffield United and Burnley but alongside tricky trips to Chelsea, Newcastle and Brentford.

Although Gunners assets should have high ownership from the start, thanks to a lovely run up to Gameweek 7. Meanwhile, Everton begin with good opportunities yet have a low-quality squad that’s difficult to highlight key players from.

There are so many questions regarding Mauricio Pochettino’s arrival at Chelsea, whilst newly-promoted Luton will remain underdogs throughout their ‘good’ run. Champions Man City are usually fixture-proof but Gameweeks 3 to 9 are wedged between meetings with Newcastle and Man United.

After the September internationals

Moving into September and beyond, Wolves are one side whose tough fixtures seem fairly spread out and it’s therefore difficult to pinpoint a particular streak of games.

Life at Spurs under Ange Postecoglou includes Bournemouth, Burnley and Sheffield United in early, consecutive outings but Man United and Arsenal are around that. The Red Devils’ run from Gameweeks 6 to 16 isn’t perfect but is generally a sea of blue, whilst Liverpool’s second match is at home to Bournemouth.

Those wanting Brighton assets from the start will have Luton (H) and Bournemouth (H) but plenty of red.

From Gameweek 11 onwards

Elsewhere, it was tough to pick between two runs for Newcastle. From Gameweek 5, it’s Brentford, Sheffield United and Burnley in-a-row but we think this later schedule from Gameweek 15 is marginally better.

Similarly to Brentford and Arsenal, Nottingham Forest are at home to two of the promoted trio in Gameweeks 2 and 5 but it’s surrounded by trips to Arsenal, Man United, Chelsea and Man City.

Perhaps pre-season will provide FPL managers with more selection clues in conjunction with such fixtures.
