Forward planning for Gameweek 37 and 38

We take a look at forward planning for Gameweek 37 and 38. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout members area we can utilise its fixture ticker and underlying stats to pick out the best teams and players to target for the Gameweeks ahead.

Forward planning for Gameweek 37 and 38 can be absolutely vital to the success of any given managers season. The latter stage of the season is one of the most important periods in FPL so being able to target the right teams and players could be key.

Gameweek 37 and 38 fixtures

Below the fixture ticker orders the teams in difficulty order for the next two Gameweeks. The teams at the top have the best fixtures whilst the teams at the bottom have the worst fixtures. We can also see that Brighton, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea all have a double Gameweek in 37.

Who has the best fixtures?

Manchester United, Brighton, Manchester City, Chelsea and Everton all rank amongst the top five teams with the best fixtures.

Who has the worst fixtures?

Brentford, Aston Villa, Southampton, Leicester and Newcastle all rank amongst the bottom five teams with the worst fixtures.

Key players for Gameweek 37 and 38

It is also important to highlight the players with the most potential over the next two Gameweeks. Amongst those assets (in fixture difficulty order) include:

  • Manchester United – Defender Luke Shaw (£5.1m) and midfielders Bruno Fernandes (£9.4m) and Marcus Rashford (£7.2m).
  • Brighton – Goalkeeper Jason Steele (£4m), defender Pervis Estupinan £4.9m) and midfielders Solly March (£5.3m) , Kaoru Mitoma (£5.6m) and Alexis Mac Allister (£5.5m).
  • Liverpool – Defender Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.7m) and midfielder Mohamed Salah (£13.1m).
  • Arsenal – Midfielders Bukayo Saka (£8.1m), Gabriel Martinelli (£6.7m) and Martin Odegaard (£6.7m) and striker Gabriel Jesus (£8.1m).
  • Tottenham striker Harry Kane (£11.4m).

Should we play a chip?

Yes. The next two Gameweeks are the only remaining rounds of the season. Double Gameweeks can have a much higher ceiling for points than single Gameweeks. For that reason, utilising the chips we have left now could be key. Lets take a look at the chips individually:

  • Free hit – The Free hit could be best used in Gameweek 37 where four teams have a double Gameweek. This allows managers to select the best three assets from each of those sides whilst also adding the best single Gameweek players.
  • Wildcard – The Wildcard could also be used now. This could help managers to maximise both of the remaining Gameweeks ahead.
  • Bench boost – Many managers will have strong benches at this point so playing the bench boost in Gameweek 37 for the doubles could be a wise move.
  • Triple captain – Many should be looking to triple captain Erling Haaland or even Marcus Rashford in Gameweek 37 for their doubles.
