Gameweek 30 best free hit team
With a new Gameweek upon us we take a look at the free hit chip. Using the Fantasy Football Scout members area we can utilise the season ticker and underlying stats to determine the Gameweek 30 best free hit team.
The free hit chip in FPL allows managers, within the same budget and formational limits, to select a team for one particular Gameweek. Managers can attack any given Gameweek with the free hit whether that be to utilise a good set of fixtures, in-form teams or players or a mixture of it all.
Fixtures
Who has the best fixtures?
Leicester, Aston Villa, Manchester United, Manchester City and Leeds all make up the top five teams with the easiest fixtures according to the fixture ticker.
Who has the worst fixtures?
Southampton, Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton and Brighton all make up the bottom five teams with the toughest fixtures according to the fixture ticker.

Goalkeepers
Chelsea rank sixth on the fixture ticker this week. They face a Wolves side who rank amongst the worst teams in the league this season for goals scored. This could suggesting investing in the Chelsea backline beneficial. Kepa Arrizalabalaga (£4.7m) ranks joint first for points per game this season when compared to all goalkeepers who have played more than 15 games (4.5).
Leicester’s Daniel Iverson (£3.8m) makes as a great cheap enabling back-up to Kepa. He will only feature in the unlikely event Kepa does not.
Defenders
Chelsea’s standout option is Ben Chilwell (£6m). The wing-back finds himself in some of the most dangerous positions on the pitch. He also ranks first for non-penalty expected goal involvement amongst all defenders in the last two Gameweeks (1.02).
Newcastle may face a tough game against Brentford in Gameweek 30 but their convincing defensive display against Manchester United in Gameweek 29 suggests the best defence in the league are still very capable. The standout defensive option in the game is still Kieran Trippier (£6.1m). He dominates most of the key distribution data points amongst defenders this season.
Manchester United have a great fixture against Everton this week. The Toffees rank amongst the worst teams in the league this season for goals scored this campaign. Because of this it could be rewarding to invest in the Reds defence. Luke Shaw (£5.2m) is the most favourable option after securing three returns in his last five Gameweeks including a double-digit haul.
Manchester City have been maintaining some of the best underlying defensive stats all season. They face a struggling Southampton side and centre-back Nathan Ake (£5m) could be one of the cheapest and most reliable ways into the backline. He will sit on the bench but can be rotated in at the discretion of managers.
Leicester’s Timothy Castagne (£4.4m) sits last on the bench. The Belgian has a great fixture and picked up an assist in his most recent match. Mangers can rotate Castagne into the starting 11 at their own discretion.
Midfielders
Everton rank as the second worst team in the league this season for shots in the box conceded. They also rank amongst the worst four teams for shots on target conceded this campaign too. Because of this it could be beneficial to double up on the Manchester United attack with the in-form Marcus Rashford (£7.3m) and penalty taker Bruno Fernandes (£9.6m).
Leicester rank first on the fixture ticker this week with a game against Bournemouth who have conceded some terrible defensive stats this season. In fact they rank the worst for goals conceded (55), shots in the box conceded (306), and attempts from set plays conceded (139). Taking this into consideration the standout attacking option from the Foxes is James Maddison (£8.3m) who has managed 15 goal contributions this season.
Liverpool may look like a tough game on paper but the Reds rank amongst the worst teams in the league for big chances conceded this season. One player who could take advantage of that is Arsenal midfielder Bukayo Saka (£8.6m). The winger takes his teams penalties and sits as the third highest scoring player in FPL this season.
Brighton have been sustaining some fantastic attacking stats this season. They come into the new round with a game against an inconsistent Tottenham. One of the best ways into the Brighton attack is Kaoru Mitoma (£5.6m) who has banked a huge eight returns in his last 10 matches. He sits first on the bench but can be rotated into the starting 11 if the owner decides it.
Forwards
Aston Villa sit second on the fixture with a game against Nottingham Forest who rank as the worst team in the league for goals conceded in the last six Gameweeks (13). Because of this and the fact he has picked up five returns in his last six matches, penalty taker Ollie Watkins (£7.5m) is an easy inclusion.
Manchester City continue to rack up some of the best offensive stats in the league and the biggest contributor to that is Erling Haaland (£12m). He sits as the highest scoring and highest owned player in the game. This is largely due to his amazing 28 goals and five assists this season.
Leicester have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last 10 matches in the Premier League. The Foxes have also conceded two or more goals in six of the same 10 games providing plenty of potential for penalty taker, budget enabler and focal point to the Bournemouth attack Dominic Solanke (£5.5m).
